that...I remember a 1991 interview with then-Governor Bill Clinton and
the news media asking him about alleged sexual misconduct with Gennifer
Flowers)

I dunno. I think the State Senator's message is hard to characterize.
On one hand, he blasts the judiciary for its perceived "activism" -- a
current theo-con talking point -- while simultaneously decrying
violence against these same judges. If you take his words at face
value, I don't think he was advocating violence at all.
But, more to the point, he is attacking a strawman. Most of the recent
violence against judges has been caused by people so far removed from
the political world that the Senator's message doesn't make sense.
Judge Leftkow's husband and mother were killed by a deranged defendant
who received an unfavorable judgment from her. The judge in Atlanta was
killed by an accused rapist. I know of no instance of actual violence
against judges by the Shiavo crowd or their ideological colleagues;
merely threats. And even those are highly isolated and taken seriously.
The blogger, John Aravosis, is trying to make something out of nothing.
