Republicans Reactions To Fahrenheit 911: - REPUBLICAN NEVER AGAIN |
How a Movie Can Move the Voting Public -- 6,000 letters a day and counting
“Prior to seeing your movie, I considered myself a Republican and planned to vote
for Bush. However, after seeing the movie my opinion strongly changed. You opened
my eyes to bush's lies and sneaky tactics. I plan to join the marine corpse as I
always had, but now I am more motivated to do so so I can help the families of all
the fallen soldiers. Thank you for bringing a personal side of war to me. The
images I saw in the movie will always be in my head to remind me of the sacrifices
the men and women make for me and you, as they serve in the armed forces--not for
president Bush but for the AMERICAN people as a whole.” –Semper Fi, M.C.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Once an obnoxious republican.....You have changed my mind...” –B.J.B., Texas
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Just last night I was able to convince my ultraconservative parents to go see
your new movie with me. They were deeply moved, and very appreciative of your
work. Thanks to you and your movie, there are two fewer George W. voters in the
world. Thank you for what you are doing for our country.” –L.F.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“I am a registered Republican engaged to a Democrat. I am an open-minded
Republican and my home is full of lively debate. I believe in being honest and I
honor truth. Your film, ‘Fahrenheit 9/11’ was moving and well done. It haunted my
thoughts for days. I had decided on my own, that Pres. George W. Bush had lied to
me and that I was not going to support his re-election campaign. Upon seeing the
film, I picked up a John Kerry for President bumper sticker and placed it on my
car. I feel like a schmuck for voting for and supporting GWB and I am encouraging
all my friends and co-workers to become informed” –C., Camarillo, California
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Saw your movie yesterday. Wow. I was blown away. I voted for bush in 2000. Boy,
was I wrong. Never again!!!” –D.K.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“My mother, who is the most apolitical person ever and who has always voted
Republican because her father did and her husband does, saw ‘Fahrenheit 9/11’ two
days ago (Mom is 71). She called the next day to ask how to get unregistered as a
Republican and re-registered as a decline-to-state. She called me because I am a
flaming liberal and work the polls every election as poll worker, and she didn't
want to tell my dad that she was doing this.
She wasn't sure about doing it prior to the election, but I told her it was
important that she do it now so the party could see that the movie is having an
effect (my hope is many more people take the same step).
So, I mailed Mom a voter registration card yesterday.
On behalf of my liberal siblings and I, thank you! You got Mom interested in
politics!!!” –S.B., Davis, California
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“I owe you an apology because I fell for all the right wing propaganda, ‘till now.
As someone Jewish and devoted to Israel's survival, I thought I found the
Republicans the only supporters of this tiny country. But I was wrong. And it was
your clear, honest documentary that showed me the truth.
I cannot believe that wealthy people would sacrifice our own countrymen just for
the sake of money, but you explained it brilliantly.
Before I saw your film I thought it was going to be what Fox news anchormen
thought it was: Leftist propaganda. But within only 15 minutes of the film I
realized that I've been a pawn in the Right's hand.
I walked out of the film knowing that YOU are truly the most important American at
this time in history. And that history will show that your great work will have
saved thousands, maybe millions of lives.” –J.W.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“I went to ‘F9/11’ by myself. My husband is a registered Republican, and he would
have gone, but I wanted to experience this without his influence. I asked him to
take our 19-year-old, know-it-all, son to dinner and to see ‘F9/11.’ They went and
walked in the door after proclaiming, ‘Mom, your Democrats are home!’
Now I am not one to vote party lines, especially since there are few choices in my
neck of the woods, but this movie changed my family dynamics. My Son, who has been
very rebellious lately, came to me, crying tears and said, ‘thanks for making us
go, Mom.’ I didn't MAKE them go, but I strongly encouraged and the whole thing was
good. My husband is no longer considering himself a Republican and my son is
hanging around the house and being nice to us (maybe actually seeing what he could
be faced with if the draft is reinstated is a little eye opening).” –M.M.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Your movie was absolutely terrific. And I voted for Bush, much to my shame. I was
never a fan of his to begin with but he seemed like a lesser of two evils. Now I
feel I was wrong. I see faults with both parties, and pretty much all politicians.
But looks like I may never vote for a Republican presidential candidate again.”
–T.H.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“My name is S.B. I am a 34-year-old, married mother of five. I have recently moved
from Chicago to Las Vegas. For several years after becoming a mother, I was a
Republican. I was under the false notion that being a Republican meant stronger
values, higher morals, and the right to keep the money I earn. I am very glad that
I was sadly mistaken, and uneducated, rather completely ignorant of the American
Political System. I woke up a few years ago, shortly after the man I voted for
became President of the United States. I am ashamed to say that I voted for George
Bush. I watched how he handled 9-11 and then sent our soldiers out to die for no
cause. I went to work for the local Democratic Ward in Chicago shortly thereafter.
I don't know if I am a Democrat, I'd like to think that I am more of an interested
American voter than affiliated with any party. To be completely honest, I think
our party system is a joke.
So, after the movie as I listened to people talk, I walked up and asked some
questions. The first question I asked was, ‘do you think the film was accurate or
just an attack against the President?’
The overwhelming majority, (I spoke with maybe 50 people), all stated that they
believed everything was accurate and that it most definitely was an attack against
Bush, but every person who said this added the disclaimer, ‘but it was a deserved
attack.’
The next question I asked was, ‘are you a registered voter?’ The overwhelming
majority, approximately 40 of the 50 were NOT registered voters! I couldn't
believe it. I asked them if this film made them want to register to vote, and they
all said, ‘now that you mention it, yes.’ Of the handful of people who were
registered voters, I asked if they had voted for Bush and it was a 50/50. I asked
all of them if they would vote for George Bush in the upcoming election, assuming
they would become registered voters, and every single person said ‘Absolutely
not!’” –S.D.B.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“I just saw ‘Fahrenheit 9/11’ tonight with my husband and I must say that I am
still numb. I feel so naive...almost like I have been living in a bubble! Thank
God my husband dragged me out to that movie theater!!!
I am a stay at home mom of 2 little boys, 4 and 11 months. We're pretty much your
average middle class family living in a Seattle suburb.
I am ashamed to say that I voted for George Bush. I'm not exactly sure why, now
that I think about it, but I did. I won't make the same mistake twice…
Ever since 9/11, I have regretted voting for G.W.B. I do not agree with the Iraq
war and the mess that G.W.B has gotten us into. I support our soldiers and want
them to come home safely but the war hasn't actually touched MY family. I haven't
lost a family member or friend to the war or the events of 9/11. Thus, I have
carried on with my life as usual. I watch the news and read the paper and feel for
those who have experienced loss, but still, I've been unable to relate.
Your documentary brought it all front and center for me. It was the best $8.50 I
have EVER spent. I cried so hard and I can't get it out of my head. When I saw
that little Iraqi boy lying on that stretcher, I imagined my son. I don't think
that I'll ever forget that image.
Your film awakened something in me. It made me want to challenge our nation's
leaders and stand up and be counted. You have opened my eyes, and for that I want
to thank you. I don't want my children to grow up in a world of corruption and
lies. I have to try to make a difference for their futures. I am going to get more
involved and encourage people to vote and take an active role in changing this
country for the better. There are more of us little people, and if we band
together, that's got to count for something…I know that I will no longer turn the
other cheek and keep my mouth shut.” –J.S., Auburn, Washington
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Thank you for the movie. Just changed my voter registration from Republican to
Democrat.” –R.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Some say that your movie is preaching to the choir. Well, I'm definitely not part
of the choir! I am very conservative (very, very), Republican (not as much now),
pro-Bush (umm...not as much any more) and I LOVED ‘Fahrenheit 9/11.’ The scariest
part of the movie was hearing Brittany Spears express ideas, or lack thereof,
that, until recently, were mine as well. I was a little ticked with your Oscar
speech last year, and I had to force myself to be open-minded during this movie.
Wow! I'm so glad I did!
…I long to see us, conservative and liberal, finding common ground. I want the
truth without the histrionics either right or left. I want the disenfranchised to
get real help. I want peace. I want justice. I want you to document the process of
a conservative like me learning to think again.
Is there a party that represents my views? I don't think so.
God bless you. Oh, and I'm not upset about the Oscars' speech anymore.” –E.D.S.,
Spring, Texas
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“My wife and I went see ‘Fahrenheit 911’ opening night. My wife is a registered
Republican and voted for Bush in the last ‘election.’ When the movie was over, she
said, ‘I know you want to talk about this, but I’m going to need some time before
I can talk about it.’ Five minutes later, before we pulled out of the parking lot,
she began to, not just cry, but wail. ‘I feel responsible! This is all my fault! I
voted for him!’” –D.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“As a 32-year-old recovering Republican (as a late teen I was an aide to Bush Sr.
and Dan Quayle...and sadly must admit that I voted for W in the last election), I
commend and encourage you in your endeavors. I was able to watch your interview on
Letterman (made sure I got home in time for it along with a group of friends) and
read the transcript of your interview with Matt Lauer. Your work is truly what
defines patriotism and it is my hope that it turns the tide of this misguided
nation.” –B.T., Los Angeles, California
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“I am the son of a NYC fire fighter, a relative and friend of troops serving in
Iraq, and a 22 year guy still trying to figure out if I should serve my country in
the armed forces or ride a truck for the rest of my life putting out fires. I'm
not saying that your movie was solely responsible for my understanding that it is
possible to do good in other paths of life, but God did it open my eyes to the
overbearing ‘right of passage and duty syndrome’ implanted in my head. I get
enraged by the thought that everyone has suffered for no reason. It infuriates me
to believe that Bush had gotten away with his actions. It wasn't a conspiracy that
took place...because conspiracies give the allusion of subversiveness and covert
acts...when people conspire they whisper and hope no one hears them, but Team Bush
overtly waved their crimes in front of our faces with the knowledge that half the
country would embrace them as patriots.
But thank you. Your film gave some hope, that my children will know what really
happened. They will know the truth of the tragedies that have shaped my life and
the horrors of corruption in a seemingly pure and free government. I guess they
didn't get away with it, Mr. Moore. I found a little peace in that. But the kind
of peace that activates a person rather than pacifies.” –J.L.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Let me start off by saying I'm not exactly sure why I am sending you this e-mail.
I consider myself a conservative, I agree with most of what "President" Bush has
done in office, and I've been known to refer to Howard Dean as the Anti-Christ.
But, there's something about you I admire.
I recently completed my first year of college. I attended Saint Rose in Albany, a
big change coming from a small town in upstate New York, not unlike your Flint.
There, I had a mass media class where we watched ‘Bowling For Columbine.’ I had
heard your name before on FOX NEWS after the Oscar speech deal, and I wasn't very
excited to be viewing your works. In all truthfulness, Mike, I pretty much hated
you. Your film, however, floored me. You shed light on so many things I had been
questioning. It moved me to tears. I wrote my term paper on it for the class, I
rented it on my own three more times before semester ended.
I just finished reading ‘Stupid White Men,’ and, again, I didn't want to agree
with you, but I did... on almost everything. Mike, I'm a registered Republican and
I know that's probably evil or something in your mind, but you've changed my
opinions on so many things. I want to change things. I want to make America the
country it should be. Goddamnit I even defend you now to my conservative friends.
So I guess I just wanted you to know that. You've converted me at least to a more
moderate, if not liberal, standpoint. And I want to help you improve America.”
–S.R.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“You can also consider my wife among the converted...your portrayal of facts
combined with a real hard look at her own beliefs have made her realize that she
now cannot vote for Bush.” –A.H., Beaumont, TX
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“I'm a republican, and I voted for Bush, but Fahrenheit 9/11 made me think and I
may very well vote differently this fall. The beauty of your movie is that it does
such a great job of showing how decisions made by our national leaders affect
ordinary people. I'm going to make a point of learning more about the political
process and becoming a more active participant in it than I ever have before, just
because of the way that your film moved me. If it has that effect on others then
it will have accomplished a great deal.” –M.F., Sioux Falls, South Dakota
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“My mother voted for Bush. My father knew that he was dirty from the word go. As a
family, we decided to attend your movie on Saturday night ‘purely for academic
purposes,’ but perhaps my father had his motives. The mother from your hometown of
Flint was practically the spitting image of my own mother, someone who does not
understand protest of a president or a war because ‘we are already there and
committed.’ When her boy died for someone else's pocketbook, not American safety,
my mother was beside herself. To think that anybody has to lose their son for all
of this. She will not be voting for Bush this year, she is no longer afraid, she
is no longer living in ignorance because of your movie.” –T.D.H.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“My wife and I saw your movie. I enjoyed it. I will go see it again just in case I
missed something. I voted for Bush the last time around. Don't worry, I won't vote
for him again. I guess you could say I am a ‘yellow dog democrat’ now. My actual
political feelings are: on business issues, progressively conservative...on social
issues, libertarian. I would go along with you on most issues, except gun control,
what we need is people control. I thought that Bush really was what he advertised,
a uniter not a divider, nothing could be further from the truth. I am an agnostic
and a science nut so his decision on stem cell research really pissed me off. And
the whole Iraq thing, ‘why didn't we go after Osama the very next day’ I kept
wondering? Only later I learned the truth about the connection between the Bush
and Bin Laden families. I wish we had five or six viable political parties in this
country, all about the same size but until then we are stuck with the Dems and the
Repubs. I apologize to you Michael, I will never, never vote Republican ever
again…” –G.L.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“I want you to know a Republican friend of mine saw your movie and she's going to
vote for Kerry. You're having an impact on swing and/or Republican voters. Thank
you.” –P.L., New York, NY
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“As a lifetime Republican, I was skeptical of Michael Moore's ‘Fahrenheit 9/11,’
but went to see it anyway, expecting a healthy dose of over-the-top banter between
Mr. Moore and hapless interviewees in government, the popular press, and at large.
What I saw, however, was a compelling assembly of facts and testimony taken
directly from our nations collective experiences and a clear indictment of our
government's behavior before and since the 9/11 tragedy. And when you consider all
of it...you cannot come to any other conclusion than this: The Bush administration
and it's benefactors have clearly manipulated the fears of the American people for
the benefit of their own private interests.
When history is written, we will look back at this Presidency, and we will be
ashamed as Americans for what has happened, and that we were too complacent and
trusting to notice.
Thank you, Michael Moore, for waking us up.” –R.W., Tracy, California
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“I grew up in a very republican home. I grew up being taught that the Republican
Party was the only thing you should trust, and Fox News is all the news you need.
…I'll tell you now, you have changed my vote. Yes, that is correct; I had intended
to vote for Bush. Your movie showed me the truth, and I only hope it can have the
same effect on the rest of my family.” –M.D.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“I am a conservative student in San Francisco who was recently planning on voting
for Bush. However, after seeing your movie I’m def. voting against him!!! I just
hope there are enough changes out there to get that jerk out of office!!!” –Anon,
San Francisco, California
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Although I have been heretofore unimpressed, if not put off, by John Kerry and
his silver spoon lifestyle, I have decided I MUST vote for him. I had almost
convinced myself that the only choice I had in the upcoming Presidential election
was not to vote at all. Your movie made me realize that not only will I vote, but
I must vote against Bush even if that means voting for Kerry. I realized after
viewing this movie that Bush isn't just impotent, he's dangerous and he is a
complete and utter fraud. Thanks for such a wake up call.” –S.U., New Orleans,
Louisiana.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“For the first time in 33 years of voting, I am changing my affiliation from
Republican to Democrat; and will vote FOR THE PEOPLE to get this inept, Yalie grad
out of office.” –S.A.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“I am a Republican and [have] a long history of family members who are hard-core.
I saw your movie today alone and I cried the whole time. I have not been moved by
a movie ever and I am ashamed as an American that I know so little about who is in
power in our country.” –C.R.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“I am a senior in college in Mobile, AL. I want you to know that I voted for Bush
4 years ago and have been an avid believer that, although it was difficult for me
to support the war, I should trust in Bush's decisions. I have often believed that
I should have faith in my leaders--that they know more than I ever could about our
situation and that I shouldn't doubt their ability, especially if I took the time
to vote for them. I have come to understand the veil I have lived behind for these
4 years.
I didn't want to go see your movie--I assumed it was a Bush-bashing attempt at
getting a new guy in office, with no facts or truth behind it. I was guessing that
it would be a one-man show--one guy's opinion that happened to be big enough to
share with the world. I was wrong, obviously, and I have to say that I am simply
grounded in the knowledge that you have let me know what I need to know.
…I cannot say that I am in favor of Kerry--his politics do not seem to be any more
truthful than what Bush's appear to be now. But, for the first time since I have
been of age to vote, I have realized the importance of my vote. I have realized
that my decision is paramount--that leaders I may choose in the future have the
power to send my friends, family, my fiancé into war over their own interests. I
don't and have never agreed with war--I have never actually had the thought
process I felt tonight while watching your movie, yet for some reason, your ideas
were not unfamiliar to me. It was almost as if I knew the corruption, the reasons
we were there…it all seemed to be closer to my mind than I had expected.
I cannot thank you enough--Americans have needed truth and honesty...we have
needed someone to stand up and shout--to kill the illusion of purpose we have been
living under for the last year & half. If anything, I'd say that this election
year will be the most trying time for every American--we will be watching the fate
of our lives in one night and I, for one, am choosing to save lives by avoiding
Bush's box.” –C.W.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“I went into ‘F911’ Pro-Bush and thinking YOU were the mistaken one. But I knew
you were a talented filmmaker so I went in with an open mind. I sat there...more
enthralled than I have been for a film in some time...and I left wondering who
exactly I have been defending to my liberal friends...Then I bought Stupid White
Men...
Long story short, I was 100% voting for Bush...now I can't see how I could...Don't
really like Kerry all that much, but I think the illusion of George W. Bush has
been removed.” –J.N.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“I tried to see your movie this past weekend in downtown Spokane, WA since it was
being shown nowhere near where I live in north Idaho. I battled huge unexpected
crowds from “HoopFest,” a big basketball tournament, which blocked off numerous
roads to the downtown theater, and finally found a parking spot, rushed into the
lobby, and went to the counter only to find it sold out. So I came back and saw it
tonight and I would like to say thank you for this movie. I used to not believe
all the "Bush is it in for oil" stuff and whatnot--I thought it was rhetoric. But
you've completely changed my mind and made me realize that Bush is more than just
a dumb illiterate Texan. He's deceptive and has powerful friends that form a
potent mix of corruption. I've been shocked by many things you revealed, including
the fact that so many bills are signed into being without ever being read! You
handled the fall of the twin towers with dignity and showed us the reality of the
Iraqi civilians affected by this war-- a portrait far more expansive than "pretty
lights" exploding on a nightscape or Geraldo Rivera's glory-hound coverage. Up
until tonight, I was an avid viewer of Fox News, including Bill O'Reilly (though I
don't always agree with him on secular v. religious issues). Now I know my
perception of that channel is forever changed and I can't continue to support a
network that feeds off fear by instilling their color-coded ‘warning system.’”
–S.W.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“I saw your movie last night for a composition class at school, I attend ITT for
electronics in Buffalo NY. I am a changed man, I will not vote for bush, and I
believe that his corruption goes far deeper than even you were able to expose, and
it makes me sick that this man is still running our country. If we can impeach a
president for a *****, then Bush should be stuffed in a microwave! Thank you for
opening my eyes, Mr. Moore.” –R.D.S.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“I just wanted to express how deeply moved I was by ‘Fahrenheit 9/11.’ I had been
swept up in much of the angst surrounding it. I have to say that many of the
points raised seemed suspicious to me before seeing the film, but the film
answered my suspicions.
…You’ve made the most important film of all time, in my opinion. I just can’t
state enough how incredible your film is and how important you are. A scant 24
hours ago I did not believe that, but I was caught up in my own xenophobia and
eagerness to see vengeance instead of justice. I understand now that you truly
love America. I was caught up in the hype that anything negative said about
America is a slap in its face and I was so angry with you. That anger has been
replaced with fear for our future but also hope for a solution to this crazy
crisis without the need for war and retribution. Whether or not it will end
peacefully has yet to be seen, but you have restored my faith and my hope for a
world in which America is a shining example and not just a money making scheme for
the leadership.” –J.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“I am a conservative and have always voted Republican. I mostly watch the Fox News
network, love Bill O'Reilly and generally disagree with things I have heard you
say. However, I went to see ‘Fahrenheit 9/11’ last night with one of my ‘liberal’
friends, much to the chagrin of some of my more ‘conservative’ friends. I just
have to say that your film was BRILLIANT! It was one of the best I have seen, very
cleverly done and poignant. I did not think it was over the top at all (which is
what I was expecting) as you gave a lot of specific information.
I voted for Bush in 2000 and have recently been seriously considering not voting
for him again…” –D.G., Clearwater, Florida
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“This past weekend I went to see your latest movie and all I can say is ‘Amen.’
The audience clapped at the end--it's time for change in this country. I went to
see the movie with my 84-year-old mother (who has been registered Republican all
her life), who is now going to change parties..." –L.W., Kingston, Pennsylvania
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“The day after your Oscar speech I emailed you and blasted you about your words
that night. I was a Bush supporter, supported the war, and continued to until the
past few months. I finally started doing my homework and reading about what our
President has been up to. I refused to believe for a long time that he was
deceiving our country. I was wrong. You were right. While I am glad that Saddam
Hussein is no longer in power, everything else about the last few years really
stinks.
I've been a Bush supporter since 2000. I no longer am. I saw your movie last
night, June 23rd, in New York City. It was a brilliant piece of work, but more
than that, very compelling, very moving. The building I work in is 100 yards from
Ground Zero, so I’m not an American that has ‘forgotten’ about 9/11. I am reminded
of it every day. It's very troubling to me that our President used that event to
push an agenda that was politically and financially motivated. Plus his ties to
the Saudis and Bin Laden’s is just plain scary. So, I owe you an apology for that
email I sent a year ago. I was wrong. You were right. Thank you for bringing this
info to the mainstream. I believe it will undoubtedly affect the election this
year.” –R.V.H.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“After the screening (very filled out for a mid-afternoon showing) at the Premiere
Palace in Wichita, the audience was met outside the theater by a local TV news
team filming reactions to the film. My wife and I did a quick interview for
KSN-TV, saying how we thought it was an incredibly powerful film.
The scene was breaking up, and the news crew was just about ready to head out when
a woman emerged from the theater in tears, visibly upset. She virtually yelled at
the camera crew, tears streaming down her face. ‘I'll tell you what I thought!’
The rest of us stopped, and turned toward the woman. ‘My father fought in World
War Two. I'm a lifelong Republican. I am so sorry. Everyone should see this movie.
I can't believe what is happening to this country. I am so sorry.’ Her speech was
a mix of fear, anger and catharsis. As tears poured out onto her face, it seemed
as if she had just come to terms with some important truth inside the theater.
Clearly she emerged from the theater, viewing the world in a different light. You
might want to keep this anecdote in mind when people tell you your new film won't
change any minds. It has.” –D.F., Wichita, Kansas

Well that's all good, but sadly the results of the election have already
been decided and rigged in favour of Bush. The voting machines have already
been programmed to vote for Bush and the conservative courts have already
made the decisions to reappoint Bush as Dictator for Life. Ironically,
fairer elections would have been held by Saddam!

Does Kerry as spaceman equal Dukakis in tank?
A photo of John Kerry in a protective spacesuit is being compared to
the unflattering image that helped tank another Massachusetts
Democratic presidential nominee in 1988.
Republicans have distributed a photo of Kerry wearing one of NASA's
head-to-toe protective suits, taken Monday at the Kennedy Space Center
in Cape Canaveral. Kerry, along with Sens. John Glenn of Ohio and Bill
Nelson of Florida, were required to wear the suits to tour the
Discovery space shuttle due to a recent launch.
A handful of the images have been posted on the Kennedy Space Center's
website. It was a photograph of former Massachusetts Gov. Michael
Dukakis in a tank that helped sink his presidential bid.
Late-night comedians have already had fun with the picture and
Republicans have e-mailed it to thousands of supporters under the
caption "Earth to Kerry."
The headline on the front page of the Boston Herald read, "Bubble
Boy." To enter the orbiter and the cockpit area where commanders sit,
Kerry, Glenn and Nelson had to go through a "white room," and don the
special suits. Media cameras were not allowed in, but NASA later
released its own photographs.
The Kerry campaign drew its own parallel of the spacesuit picture with
Bush's May 1, 2003, landing on an aircraft carrier in a flight suit to
declare an end to combat operations in Iraq in front of a banner
reading "Mission Accomplished." More than 750 U.S. troops have died in
Iraq since that day and U.S. forces are plagued by violence.

Ron Kuby: Berger's 9/11 Paper Pilfer No Accident -Kerry Advisor in
Deep Doo Doo
Kuby: Berger's 9/11 Paper Pilfer No Accident
Noted civil rights attorney and regular defender of the Clinton
administration Ron Kuby said Tuesday that it's hard to believe former
National Security Advisor Sandy Berger took top secret terrorism
documents from a 9/11 Commission reading room by accident. "Nobody,
nobody inadvertently picks up classified information and walks out
with it. It isn't done," Kuby told his WABC Radio partner Curtis
Sliwa.
Mr. Berger, who now serves as a key advisor to the Kerry-Edwards
campaign on national security issues, told FBI probers that his own
"sloppiness" caused him to begin stuffing his pockets and briefcase
with the top secret papers. But the perpetrator-friendly New York
lawyer wasn't buying his excuses.
"You cannot do this accidentally," he told Sliwa. "You can do it
arrogantly, being so used to your top security clearance that you
figure the rules don't apply to you - and I've seen that in Republican
and Democratic administrations alike. But you don't do it
accidentally."
Kuby insisted that even if Berger had simply removed the notes he made
while viewing the secret Clinton administration terror documents, it
would still be a crime.
"If you're taking notes about classified information, those notes are
now classified. They're placed in a secure area. You can have access
to them only while being viewed by a security officer. Nothing gets
removed."
"It's a crime to remove classified information or to deal with it in a
manner that potentially compromises it," he said.
Kuby said he learned about the security procedures firsthand, when he
was permitted to view classified information during his involvement in
the trial of the first World Trade Center bombers.
"The rules are very strict," he said. "There's somebody monitoring
you. The notes that you take on classified material themselves are
deemed to be classified. You leave everything there."
"You're not permitted to remove anything from that room - period," he
emphasized. "It's a crime to remove classified information or to deal
with it in a manner that potentially compromises it."

Washington D.C.
George Bush buddy Sun Myung Moon gave nuclear weapons submarine
sea-launch technology to North Korea in 1994. That technology now
permits North Korea sea-platform launched missiles to hit continental
USA. Bush and Moon are collaborating on "SwiftVet" smear dirty tricks,
using Moon's Washington Times and UPI news operations to peddle felony
frauds.
SUN MYUNG MOON gave North Korea NUKE DELIVERY SYSTEMS.
http://www.ecosyn.us/adti/Nukes.html
Sun Myung Moon's Japanese Toen Trading company delivered 12 Russian
Golf missile submarines with launch tubes intact. The North Korean
communists studied this technology and adapted their missiles to be
sea launched from surface and submarine platforms. North Korea now has
nuclear weapon strike capability which can reach the continental
United States from sea-based mobile launch facilities at distances of
2,500 miles. This website has clickable links to Sun Myung Moon

Sun Myung Moon owns the Washington Times newspaper, and he owns the
UPI (United Press International) wireservice. He controls the main
Washington DC conservative propaganda mill. The Washington Times has
been subsidized by over a billion dollars of moonie slave labor. Every
time that a republican politician quotes the Washington Times, or
writes an article or op-ed in it, Sun Myung Moon is made larger in his
brainwashed follower's eyes. Conservatives are so desperate for
propaganda for their agenda that they willingly aid and abet Sun Myung
Moon's organized crime activities in exchange for the help his
organized crime front operations deliver to them.
Sun Myung Moon has paid ex-presidents, such as George Herbert Walker
Bush up to $10,000,000 for photo-op and endorsements, because his
virtually captive followers have very restricted access to news. They
are told that everybody Moon shakes hands with has accepted Moon as
their lord and savior. This global slave labor force replenishes a $10
million expense for faked stage setting photo-op in a couple of days.

Sun Myung Moon crowned as Second Coming in DC
The news of a very strange event that occurred at the end of March,
but was quietly swept under the carpet by the mainstream media, is
just now beginning to leak out. Expect to hear more about it in the
coming days. Here's a preview on what surely must be one of the most
bizarre happenings in the long history of Congressional oddities...
It occurred on March 23, 2004 when Reverend Sun Myung Moon, cultist
leader of the Unification Church (currently known as The Family
Federation for World Peace and Unification), was crowned "King of
Peace" in a coronation ceremony. In his coronation speech, Moon told
the audience that it was now time to officially recognize him as the
returned Messiah.

Republicans don't want us to know about. (Actually, it was a democrat
conservative, to the great relief of republican conservatives, who
placed the crown on Moon, in this hoax ceremony. In Moon's world he
replaces all governments with his Taliban, so Republicans and
Democrats all will be liquidated.
The quaint mass marriage ceremonies of the Moonies has another
significance: these represent thousands upon thousand upon thousands
of members of an organized crime empire, as dedicated as body-bomb
suicide muslims, to the eccentric whims of this visibly insane man.
Moonies surreptitiously swell rallies for rightwing causes, clog the
internet forums with their unshakable propaganda-mongering which
cannot be reasoned with, vote as a block and move across state lines
to do it. They even move across international boundaries to meddle in
politics.
Moonies also collaborate with other organized crime rings for mutal
profit.

Clark Praises 400 lb Unshaven, Unbathed Communist Michael Moore
Eight days after his most prominent supporter falsely accused
President Bush of being a military "deserter," Gen. Wesley Clark again
declined an opportunity to condemn the bogus charge, maintaining, as
he has since Thursday, that he hasn't examined the allegation.
Asked Sunday whether he knew of "any evidence" to support the
accusation leveled by radical filmmaker Michael Moore, who called
President Bush "a deserter" last Saturday as Clark looked on, the
former NATO commander told "Meet the Press," "Well, I've never looked
into those ... those allegations."
Clark's protestations of ignorance come despite the fact that the
Boston Globe, the newspaper that originally reported that Bush had
missed a full year of National Guard service in the 1970s, said
Friday:
"News reports, including some in the Globe, have questioned Bush's
constancy as a National Guard airman at the time, but he has not been
credibly accused of desertion, a serious charge. Clark should have
distanced himself from the remark."
Moore still cites the original May 2000 Globe report on his Web site
to defend his Bush "desertion" charge, though the New York Times
discovered later that year that the Globe missed evidence that proved
its original report was false.
Still, despite his key backer's disingenuousness, Gen. Clark told
"Meet the Press," "I will tell you this about Michael Moore. I think
he's a man of conscience. I think he's done a lot of great things for
ordinary people,
working people across America. And I'm very happy to have his
support."
Ever since the Moore flap erupted after Thursday night's debate, Gen.
Clark's support in the New Hampshire primary has been dropping like a
rock, plummeting 9 points in just three days, according to a Gallup
survey released Saturday.

EDITOR'S NOTE: The still-escalating fight over the Swift Boat Veterans for
Truth and their criticisms of John Kerry's Vietnam War record has led to new
Democratic attacks on George W. Bush and his service in the Texas Air
National Guard. "George Bush used his father to get into the National Guard,
was grounded and then went missing," says an ad produced by MoveOn.org's
political action committee.
Democrats made similar attacks earlier this year. In April, Kerry referred
to Bush as a president who "can't even answer whether or not he showed up
for duty in the National Guard," and who "has yet to explain to America
whether or not, and tell the truth, about whether he showed up for duty." In
February, Kerry said he wanted answers about Bush's service in Alabama,
saying "Just because you get an honorable discharge does not, in fact,
answer that question."
Lost amid all the charges are the facts about Bush's time in the Guard. When
did he serve? What did he do? Did he fulfill his responsibilities? Was he in
Alabama? In the March 8, 2004, issue of National Review, Byron York
investigated and found the answers.

Ask retired Brig. Gen. William Turnipseed whether the press has accurately
reported what he said about George W. Bush, and you'll get an earful. "No, I
don't think they have," he begins. Turnipseed, the former head of the 187th
Tactical Reconnaissance Group of the Alabama Air National Guard, was widely
quoted as saying he never saw Bush in Alabama in 1972, and if the future
president had been there, he would remember. In fact, Turnipseed says, he
doesn't recall whether Bush was there or not; the young flier, then a
complete unknown in Alabama, was never part of the 900-man 187th, so
Turnipseed wouldn't have had much reason to notice him. But most reporters
haven't been interested in Turnipseed's best recollection. "They don't
understand the Guard, they don't want to understand the Guard, and they hate
Bush," he says. "So when I say, 'There's a good possibility that Bush showed
up,' why would they put that in their articles?"

want to understand the Guard, and they hate Bush," he says. "So when I say,
'There's a good possibility that Bush showed up,' why would they put that in
their articles?"
In recent weeks, Turnipseed has found himself in the middle of a battle in
which Democrats have called the president a "deserter" who went "AWOL" for
an entire year during his time in the Air National Guard. When Democrats
made those accusations - amplified by extensive press coverage - the White
House was slow to fight back, insisting that the issue, which came up in the
2000 campaign, was closed and did not merit a response. It was only after
NBC's Tim Russert brought the story up during a one-hour interview with the
president on February 8 that the White House changed course and released
records of the president's Guard service.
Those records have not quieted the most determined of the president's
enemies - no one who watches the Democratic opposition really believed they
would - but they do make a strong case that Bush fulfilled his duties and
met the requirements for Air National Guard officers during his service from
1968 to 1973. A look at those records, along with interviews with people who
knew Bush at the time, suggests that after all the shouting is over, and
some of the basic facts become known, this latest line of attack on the
president will come to nothing.
FOUR YEARS OF FLYING The controversy over Bush's service centers on what his
critics call "the period in question," that is, the time from May 1972 until
May 1973. What is not mentioned as often is that that period was in fact
Bush's fifth year in the Guard, one that followed four years of often
intense service.
Bush joined in May 1968. He went through six weeks of basic training - a
full-time job - at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Tex. Then he
underwent 53 weeks of flight training - again, full time - at Moody Air
Force Base in Valdosta, Ga. Then he underwent 21 weeks of fighter
interceptor training - full time - at Ellington Air Force Base in Houston.
Counting other, shorter, postings in between, by the end of his training
period Bush had served two years on active duty.
Certified to fly the F-102 fighter plane, Bush then began a period of
frequent - usually weekly - flying. The F-102 was designed to shoot down
other fighter planes, and the missions Bush flew were training flights,
mostly over the Gulf of Mexico and often at night, in which pilots took
turns being the predator and the prey."If you're going to practice how to
shoot down another airplane, then you have to have another airplane up there
to work on," recalls retired Col. William Campenni, who flew with Bush in
1970 and 1971. "He'd be the target for the first half of the mission, and
then we'd switch."
During that period Bush's superiors gave him consistently high ratings as a
pilot. "Lt. Bush is an exceptional fighter interceptor pilot and officer,"
wrote one in a 1972 evaluation. Another evaluation, in 1971, called Bush "an
exceptionally fine young officer and pilot" who "continually flies intercept
missions with the unit to increase his proficiency even further." And a
third rating, in 1970, said Bush "clearly stands out as a top notch fighter
interceptor pilot" and was also "a natural leader whom his contemporaries
look to for leadership."
All that flying involved quite a bit of work. "Being a pilot is more than
just a monthly appearance," says Bob Harmon, a former Guard pilot who was a
member of Bush's group in 1971 and 1972. "You cannot maintain your currency
by doing just one drill a month. He was flying once or twice a week during
that time, from May of 1971 until May of 1972." While the work was certainly
not as dangerous as fighting in the jungles of Vietnam, it wasn't exactly
safe, either. Harmon remembers a half-dozen Texas Air National Guard fliers
who died in accidents over the years, in cluding one during the time Bush
was flying. "This was not an endeavor without risk," Harmon notes.
THE MOVE TO ALABAMA The records show that Bush kept up his rigorous schedule
of flying through the spring of 1972: He was credited for duty on ten days
in March of that year, and seven days in April. Then, as Bush began his
fifth year of service in the Guard, he appears to have stepped back
dramatically. The records indicate that he received no credit in May, June,
July, August, and September 1972. In October, he was credited with two days,
and in November he was credited with four. There were no days in December,
and then six in January 1973. Then there were no days in February and March.
The change was the result of Bush's decision to go to Alabama to work on the
Senate campaign of Republican Winton Blount. With an obligation to the
Guard, Bush asked to perform equivalent service in Alabama. That was not an
unusual request, given that members of the Guard, like everyone else, often
moved around the country. "It was a common thing," recalls Brigadier General
Turnipseed. "If we had had a guy in Houston, he could have made equivalent
training with Bush's unit. It was so common that the guy who wrote the
letter telling Bush to come didn't even tell me about it."
The president's critics have charged that he did not show up for service -
was "AWOL" - in Alabama. Bush says he did serve, and his case is supported
by records showing that he was paid and given retirement credit for days of
service while he was known to be in Alabama. The records also show that Bush
received a dental examination on January 6, 1973, at Dannelly Air National
Guard base, home of the 187th (January 6 was one of the days that pay
records show Bush receiving credit for service). And while a number of Guard
members at the base say they do not remember seeing Bush among the roughly
900 men who served there during that time, another member, a retired
lieutenant named John Calhoun, says he remembers seeing Bush at the base
several times.
What seems most likely is that Bush was indeed at Dannelly, but there was
not very much for a non-flying pilot to do. Flying fighter jets involves
constant practice and training; Bush had to know when he left Texas that he
would no longer be able to engage in either one very often, which meant that
he would essentially leave flying, at least for some substantial period of
time. In addition, the 187th could not accommodate another pilot, at least
regularly. "He was not going to fly," says Turnipseed. "We didn't have
enough airplanes or sorties to handle our own pilots, so we wouldn't have
done it for some guy passing through."
On the other hand, showing up for drills was still meeting one's
responsibility to the Guard. And, as 1973 went along, the evidence suggests
that Bush stepped up his work to make up for the time he had missed earlier.
In April of that year, he received credit for two days; in May, he received
credit for 14 days; in June, five days; and in July, 19 days. That was the
last service Bush performed in the Guard. Later that year, he asked for and
received permission to leave the Guard early so he could attend Harvard
Business School. He was given an honorable discharge after serving five
years, four months, and five days of his original six-year commitment.
The records indicate that, despite his move to Alabama, Bush met his
obligation to the Guard in the 1972-73 year. At that time, Guardsmen were
awarded points based on the days they reported for duty each year. They were
given 15 points just for being in the Guard, and were then required to
accumulate a total of 50 points to satisfy the annual requirement. In his
first four years of service, Bush piled up lots of points; he earned 253
points in his first year, 340 in his second, 137 in his third, and 112 in
his fourth. For the year from May 1972 to May 1973, records show Bush earned
56 points, a much smaller total, but more than the minimum requirement (his
service was measured on a May-to-May basis because he first joined the Guard
in that month in 1968).
Bush then racked up another 56 points in June and July of 1973, which met
the minimum requirement for the 1973-74 year, which was Bush's last year of
service. Together, the record "clearly shows that First Lieutenant George W.
Bush has satisfactory years for both '72-'73 and '73-'74, which proves that
he completed his military obligation in a satisfactory manner," says retired
Lt. Col. Albert Lloyd, a Guard personnel officer who reviewed the records at
the request of the White House.
All in all, the documents show that Bush served intensively for four years
and then let up in his fifth and sixth years, although he still did enough
to meet Guard requirements. The records also suggest that Bush's superiors
were not only happy with his performance from 1968 to 1972, but also happy
with his decision to go to Alabama. Indeed, Bush's evaluating officer wrote
in May 1972 that "Lt. Bush is very active in civic affairs in the community
and manifests a deep interest in the operation of our government. He has
recently accepted the position as campaign manager for a candidate for
United States Senate. He is a good representative of the military and Air
National Guard in the business world."
Beyond their apparent hope that Bush would be a good ambassador for the
Guard, Bush's superiors might have been happy with his decision to go into
politics for another reason: They simply had more people than they needed.
"In 1972, there was an enormous glut of pilots," says Campenni. "The Vietnam
War was winding down, and the Air Force was putting pilots in desk jobs. In
'72 or '73, if you were a pilot, active or Guard, and you had an obligation
and wanted to get out, no problem. In fact, you were helping them solve
their problem."
THE UNENDING ATTACK Despite the evidence, Democrats have continued to accuse
the president of shirking his duty during his Guard career. "He went to
Alabama for one year," Democratic National Committee chairman Terry
McAuliffe said on ABC on February 1. "He didn't show up. Call it whatever
you want, AWOL, it doesn't matter." After Bush made his Guard records
public, McAuliffe released a statement saying the documents "create more
questions than answers." Other Democrats, as well as an energetic team of
liberal columnists and bloggers, echoed McAuliffe's comments.
Perhaps the most impressive accomplishment of Bush's detractors is that they
managed to sell the idea - mostly unchallenged in the press - that Bush's
Air National Guard service consisted of one year during which he didn't show
up for duty. Far fewer people asked the question: Just how did Bush become a
fighter pilot in the first place? Didn't that involve, say, years of work?
Bush's four years of service prior to May 1972 were simply airbrushed out of
the picture because many reporters did not believe they were part of the
story.
It also seems likely that some of Bush's adversaries used the Guard issue as
a way to get at other questions about the president. The Guard record was
said to have a bearing on Bush's credibility, on the war in Iraq, on his
fitness to lead. In addition, some journalists were nearly obsessed with
forcing the president to release medical records from his time in the Guard
because they hoped those records might reveal some evidence of drug use. The
White House did not release the full set of medical records but did allow
reporters to view them; the documents were entirely unexcep tional and
contained nothing about drug use.
While all that was going on, both the White House and the Bush reelection
campaign seemed consistently to underestimate the ferocity and resolve of
the president's adversaries. For weeks, as the controversy grew, the
president did nothing to defend himself. Those who wanted to speak up in his
defense, like William Campenni and Bob Harmon, were not contacted by the
White House; instead, they decided to go public on their own. Even when John
Calhoun, the man who remembers Bush in Alabama, sent the White House an
e-mail saying he had useful information, he received a stock response,
without any indication the White House was interested in what he had to say.
Now the evidence is public; anyone who is interested in learning about
Bush's service can do so. In the end, the president had the facts on his
side. But he also had the good fortune to have the allegiance of men who
feel so intensely about the Guard and their service that they wanted to
speak out even if the White House didn't seem to care. Men like Campenni and
Harmon were deeply offended when Democratic presidential candidate John
Kerry equated Guard service during the Vietnam War with fleeing the country
or going to jail. That was simply too much. "I'm not a Bushie," says Harmon.
"The thing that got a few of us crawling out from under a rock, at no
instigation from the White House, was that Guard service was being portrayed
as being like a draft dodger."

in May 1972 that "Lt.
