Object: Robert Ingersoll, rational atheist.
When I became convinced that the Universe is natural - that all the ghosts
and gods are myths, there entered into my brain, into my soul, into every
drop of my blood, the sense, the feeling, of the joy of freedom. The walls
of my prison crumbled and fell, the dungeon was flooded with light and all
the bolts, and bars, and manacles became dust.

Over the years I've met a handful of people who regularly talk with God,
but they usually do so only when they're off their medications.

I have not read any of them, including the one I responded to. My
views on this topic, and I do suspect my views are pretty normal for
once, are not affect at all by the affiliation of anyone else.
Certainly not "famous" people. I can give you list of rational and
irrational atheists, admirable and despicable theists (of just about
any religion), and wishy washy agnostics (just a joke). If I gave you
a list of X (your choice of X) rational or admirable or whatever
theists would it change your views on the existence of God? I doubt
it. It is in general an error to argue based on the notion that others
are fundamentally different from you.
OTOH if you are just having fun go on, don't let me stop you.

One could say that I was supporting atheism by appealing to authority,
but one would be wrong. I'm simply posting some more or less famous
people's views, and why they claim to hold them.
