San Antonio Hostage Standoff Ordeal

SAN ANTONIO
A 30-year-old San Antonio man who authorities say was
armed and holding his three daughters hostage surrendered
peacefully to police following a three-hour standoff. Police
said the hostage ordeal unfolded at 5:30 a.m. following
an argument between the man and his wife at an apartment
unit in the northwest part of the city. The woman called
police after the man refused to let her leave the apartment
with their 4-, 6- and 10-year-old daughters. "He's been
violent in the past and she has good reason to believe
he could be violent again," said San Antonio spokesman
Sgt. Gabe Trevino.
Following negotiations between the man and police, the
man surrendered without incident at 8:30 a.m.
The children were not harmed during the incident
