Object: Schindler's List Nets Big Bucks
The parents of Terri Schiavo have authorized a conservative direct-mailing firm
to sell a list of their financial supporters, making it likely that thousands
of strangers moved by her plight will receive a steady stream of solicitations
from anti-abortion and conservative groups.
"These compassionate pro-lifers donated toward Bob Schindler's legal battle to
keep Terri's estranged husband from removing the feeding tube from Terri," says
a description of the list on the Web site of the firm, Response Unlimited,
which is asking $150 a month for 6,000 names and $500 a month for 4,000 e-mail
addresses of people who responded last month to an e-mail plea from Ms.
Schiavo's father. "These individuals are passionate about the way they value
human life, adamantly oppose euthanasia and are pro-life in every sense of the
word!"
Privacy experts said the sale of the list was legal and even predictable, if
ghoulish.

A reminder to us all that the mortality rate in America is still 100%
and all the feeding tubes and breathing machines in the world are not
going to change that. I've never met anyone who's said, "...and if some
day I suffer brain damage and become a vegitable, I want to keep me
hooked up to that @#$%@ machine until the day you die!". I can't
remember who said this but, "Its not about the way you die but about
the way you lived..."

i wonder how much they'll rake in.
further excerpts.

Direct mail and mass e-mailings are ubiquitous fund-raising tools of interest groups on

the left as well as the right, and others in the direct-mail business defended the sale of
lists like the roster of donors to the Schindlers as a useful way for potential donors to learn
of causes that might appeal to them.

"I think it sounds a little unusual right now because of the situation where she is in the

process of dying," said Richard Viguerie, another major conservative direct-mail operator.
"If you came across this information six months or a year from now, I don't think you would
give it too much thought."
only 6 months? using the elephant as symbol of Repugantism seems in conflict with the
popular "ism", 'memory of an elephant'.

Absolutely! Otherwise you'd have nothing to write about!

Talking about abortion. When do you decide to be for the rights of the
unborn? Where is the cut-off line?
Let's say that an egg becomes fertilized. It's floating through the
woman's body on its way to being implanted. By this time, most
"pro-lifers" agree that the egg+sperm combo is an unborn baby. Life
begins at conception, right? So, this life is floating about, making
its way to the implantation spot.
Something happens along the way, though. The uterine-lining isn't thick
enough or isn't the right consistency. The "life" bounces around for a
bit then exits the body. The mother-to-be does not know any of this is
ocurring. This "life" then splashes down in the toilet while she's
going to the bathroom, and she flushes it away.
Is this "involuntary manslaughter"? Can the mother-to-be be convicted
of murdering her unborn baby? I mean, according to pro-lifers, the
woman just flushed her baby down the toilet. Where do you draw the line?

In John's case, before the penis enters the vagina.

"pro-lifers" agree that the egg+sperm combo is an unborn baby. Life

John would draw the line exactly there. Involuntary manslaugher.
His motto is 'go and multiply'.

You call yourselves 'pro-life', but you condone killing with relish.
