Screeching death nell for creationists |
Inorganic interstellar matter could be alive.
http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2007/08/070814150630.htm
Whoa. This is heavy.
This, this right here is EXACTLY the kind of jaw-dropping wonder of
the natural world that underscores just how silly and childish ancient
myths like the bible really are.

Indeed. We'll have to see how this plays out. So far these are just
inorganic particles with interesting structures, but who know where
future studies will lead?
Nice find. Thanks for posting this.

Yes, indeed.
Thanks for posting it.
I'm particularly impressed with the idea that these inorganic structures
could be the template for more complex organic structures.
It occurs to me that they may have been the 'scaffolding' on which the first
RNA/DNA molecules assembled themselves.
As with scaffolding, it was removed when the organic molecules were fully
assembled and it was no longer needed to support the unfinished structure.

"He adds that the plasma conditions needed to form these helical structures

That would seem to be a major flaw in the bible, doncha think? I mean,
life on earth, the beginnings of the universe, life forms of other types
and places--they're pretty important, aren't they? So it's only
reasonable to also talk about life elsewhere if you're going to talk
about any of these.
That is, unless the bible is nothing more than a load of Bronze Age
