Object: Secret Window
I've recently been participating in a bulletin board for the HBO
"Six Feet Under" series this past week, talking about my mistaken
rapture story, and one person claims that my story idea must've come
from some movie called "Secret Window."
I dunno if they were talking about the movie with Johnny Depp or
not, but I haven't actually seen that movie or any other movie that
I can remember with that name.
Anybody know what they might have been talking about? Is
there some scene in the Depp movie about floating sex dolls and
a woman being run over when she thinks the rapture is happening?

Someone is having a giggle, you "mysterious stranger," you...!
SECRET WINDOW (2004) ** Johnny Depp, Maria Bello, John Turturro,
Timothy Hutton, Charles
S. Dutton, Len Cariou. Depp gives another patented off-beat turn as a
writer facing a real identity crisis – his marriage is falling apart
and a dangerous stranger makes his presence known by insisting
Depp plagiarized his story – that leads to some psychological twists a
la Stephen King
(adapted from his novella by the director David Koepp), which feel
a bit tired by the film's logy conclusion.

Ah, so that's what they were talking about...
I googled around and found some book called "The Secret Window"
written by a Betty Ren Wright that I thought might have been what they
were talking about.

As others have pointed out, it's got to be the recent Jonny Depp
film.

Plot Outline: A writer is accused for plagiarism by a strange man,
who then starts haunting him for "justice".
You're getting ribbed.

As far as I can see, the movie is simply about a writer being stalked
by a nutjob who insists that Depp's character stole his idea. It's from
a Steven King story.
