Seen in Tennessee |
On I-75 while going to Knoxville, Tennessee, I saw an interesting sight.
There was a 75 foot tall stainless steel cross. As we approached it, there
was no church to be found anywhere near it and no signs. Instead, about 150
feet away, was adult bookstore. The cross looked like a recent addition. The
bookstore did not. I suspect it was an intimidation tactic.

It probably was. There is a "Dockside Dolls" club on I40 in central
NC. (That's how I go to Knoxville.) In the same parking lot is a
Baptist church. I swear that that church wasn't there a couple years
ago. (The building *was, but I don't think it was a church.) I
suspect they put it there so they could intimidate the guys using the
club. Anybody know for sure?

On I-75 while going to Knoxville, Tennessee, I saw an interesting sight.
There was a 75 foot tall stainless steel cross. As we approached it, there
was no church to be found anywhere near it and no signs. Instead, about 150
feet away, was adult bookstore. The cross looked like a recent addition. The
bookstore did not. I suspect it was an intimidation tactic.
Did you go into the bookstore? Maybe it was a Christian-approved
porno bookstore?

Naw. Didn't want to take the chance that it was Christian-approved.
They might have only stocked Prayboy magazine and, if they were really
