Self proclaimed atheists make me sick, atheists cannot exist in the
United States of America, it is impossible.
They don't seem to comprehend that by simply saying that there is no
God, proves that in their minds, He does in fact exist. Something does
not have to be tangible for it to exist. If I were to create something
to not believe in, and tell myself enough times, and enough people, I
can "not believe" something into existence. So I don't believe in
"Snarfgobolus" if I tell enough people that I don't believe in it I
will eventually have to explain what it is I don't believe, and then it
WILL exist, if only in theory.
Saying that God doesn't exist is just plain ignorant, as I said before,
something does not have to be tangible to exist. Gravity DOES exist, we
all have to admit that, but it is not tangible. "But Biph, I'm an
atheist, and gravity is tangible, we can see its effect on the physical
world!" True dat. But you can also see God's effect on the physical
world, because it exists. "Well, I can feel gravity." Well, I can
feel God. Sharks can feel tiny electrical fields, since you can't do
they not exist? Just because you can't feel something does not mean
that it isn't there, stop being a dumbass.
Just because you don't have faith, does not mean that that which you do
not have faith in does not exist. There are millions of people who know
what a Jedi is, so they exist, even if only in our minds. The same can
be said of God. Just because you may have never seen a Star Wars movie,
that does not mean that Jedi have never been, stop being such a fool!
There are so many things in the world that I have never experienced or
felt or seen or heard, but I don't simply dismiss them, as though my
pathetic opinion matters, into oblivion (well, that's what I would be
thinking, if I were as pea-brained as all atheists).
The fact remains that God does exist, whether or not you believe in Him
(and the only way to not believe in Him, is to never have had the
thought of a Divine Being cross your mind or brought to your attention,
denial is an acceptance of His Existence). When an atheist tells me
that they are an atheist, I tell them that their lack of faith is
disturbing, and leave it at that, because I don't have the time to
explain to them the difference.
Atheists, I have a question for you, if there is no God, what is the
point of trying to live a decent and moral life? It seems pointless if
after we die, there's no hope for us.

What happens after we die is irrelevant, the important thing is to make this
life the best it can be. It just so happens that the best way to do that is
to live by principles that allow humans to live together in peace and
harmony.
It's sad that you need the threat of eternal torture just to make you behave
in a polite and decent manner.
But wait! You DON'T behave in a polite and decent manner. You spew hate and

United States of America, it is impossible.

Self-proclaimed theists cannot write. Their spelling is atrocious. They
do not know how to punctuate.

Self-proclaimed theists cannot argue. Their arguments are spurious
and full of logical fallacies.

Oh, and they overgeneralize.

And your point is? (:>)

Since there are many people who don't believe in god and many of them are
in or will shortly be in the US your statement is ridiculous.

They don't seem to comprehend that by simply saying that there is no
God, proves that in their minds, He does in fact exist.

There is no Santa Claus. There is no Easter Bunny. There are no
Leprechauns.
Now, do they exist because I don't believe in their existence and say so?

Something does
not have to be tangible for it to exist.

Yes it does. It must be tangible through SOME kind of interaction with
the material universe. For example, Neutrinos are tangible, simply not
to any human senses.

If I were to create something
to not believe in, and tell myself enough times, and enough people, I
can "not believe" something into existence.

No you can't. You're simply propagating an idea.
Which is not a material thing, nor demonstrable by any means other than
as a concept.

So I don't believe in
"Snarfgobolus" if I tell enough people that I don't believe in it I
will eventually have to explain what it is I don't believe, and then it
WILL exist, if only in theory.

No, it doesn't exist. The belief system you're propagating exists.
You're confusing a meme with an object.

Saying that God doesn't exist is just plain ignorant, as I said before,
something does not have to be tangible to exist.

Objects must be tangible to exist.
This doesn't imply that they ARE observed, nor that they will ever be
observed.

Gravity DOES exist, we
all have to admit that, but it is not tangible.

Gravity is not an object, it is a natural force.
Its existence is demonstrated through the scientific process.

But you can also see God's effect on the physical
world, because it exists.

No such objective scientific evidence exists.

"Well, I can feel gravity." Well, I can
feel God.

An emotional sense of god is not evidence of objective reality.

Sharks can feel tiny electrical fields, since you can't do
they not exist? Just because you can't feel something does not mean
that it isn't there, stop being a dumbass.

Since sense of 'god' can be induced through extracranial magnetic
stimulation, the scientific evidence is that the sense of 'god' is a
manufactured illusion within the brain and not even a misinterpretation
of sensory data.

Just because you don't have faith, does not mean that that which you do
not have faith in does not exist.

A lack of objective material evidence for a belief is support for the
null hypothesis - namely that the belief is false.

There are millions of people who know
what a Jedi is, so they exist, even if only in our minds. The same can
be said of God. Just because you may have never seen a Star Wars movie,
that does not mean that Jedi have never been, stop being such a fool!

Seeing a star-wars movie is not evidence that Jedi actually existed.
Likewise, belief in spiritualistic religious dogma is not evidence for
'god'.
That many people believe in spiritualistic religious dogma is not
surprising, it's in human nature.
But there is no - ZERO - scientific proof that any of their beliefs are
grounded in anything more than their particular flavour of spiritualistic
religious dogma.

There are so many things in the world that I have never experienced or
felt or seen or heard, but I don't simply dismiss them, as though my
pathetic opinion matters, into oblivion (well, that's what I would be
thinking, if I were as pea-brained as all atheists).

Do you always try to make arguments through insult?
Your ability to maintain a logical argument is pathetic.

The fact remains that God does exist, whether or not you believe in Him
(and the only way to not believe in Him, is to never have had the
thought of a Divine Being cross your mind or brought to your attention,
denial is an acceptance of His Existence).

Fine. Offer material scientific evidence of 'god'.
Otherwise, your 'proof', viz personal 'knowledge' of 'god' is
indistinguishable from mental illness or artificially induced
hallucinations.
Occams Razor therefore says you're merely self-deluded.
So prove the you're not merely self-deluded by demonstrating how your
beliefs are grounded on objective material evidence of 'god'.

When an atheist tells me
that they are an atheist, I tell them that their lack of faith is
disturbing, and leave it at that, because I don't have the time to
explain to them the difference.

Except you then go and post a spray on USENET.
You're in denial about your own behaviour.

Atheists, I have a question for you, if there is no God, what is the
point of trying to live a decent and moral life?

What an idiotic question.
For the same reasons I want my fellow man to live a decent and moral
life; collective well-being and individual self-interest.
Human altruism is well studied. Go learn something.

It seems pointless if
after we die, there's no hope for us.

Then I pity your inability to find beauty and wonder in the world around
us.
Furthermore, pining for some fictitious after-life draws attention away
from dealing with issues which are beyond any one human lifetime -
consider pollution, global warming and disease.
The real world will go on after your permanent and unending death. The
only question is whether your life will have an effect on those that come
after you.
jesus!

Atheists, I have a question for you, if there is no God, what is the
point of trying to live a decent and moral life? It seems pointless if
after we die, there's no hope for us.

Here is how it works. Keep in mind that these are my own views on the
subject and may not reflect even the majority of atheists. These are
generalities and there are exceptions.
What is to keep me from stealing, killing, etc? There are several reasons.
1) For you the concept of heaven and hell is nothing but crime and
punishment only the crimes can be ridiculous. For the atheist we have the
laws of the country which mirror for the most part your 10 commendments
with a few notable exceptions. Maybe this can be best answered when
examining remote tribes of South America. They have no concept of God,
never heard of Jesus, and yet they are basically good people. They don't
steal, kill, rape, etc. Why? They want to be treated nicely so they treat
others the same way. Sort of a golden rule idea, right?
2) It is called basic goodness and love. We respect humans and want to be
treated with the same respect. If you care about someone you don't hurt
them right? My wife doesn't want me to cheat so I don't cheat.
3) The need to be loved. We all need to be loved and appreciated. So to
that end we try to love and appreciate others.
As far as life being pointless, well I have hope that I will be able to
pass to my children the many things I have learned. I hope that one day
the work that I do will be of benefit to the others and will improve the
human condition.
I suggest you read a book. Atlas Shrugged. It is a story about perception
vs. fact, the advantages of rational thinking, and the pitfalls of
socialism. It is not a bad story either. I consider it a 1930's techno-
thriller. Don't let the volume of pages put you off. The book is actually
a 2-3 part story or series of novels put together. See if you can make
some parallels between the various characters experiences and your
experiences.
Consider the following: If you consider life pointless if there is no
afterlife, then maybe you are exactly where the authorities want you.
Think about your religion. Most are either shame based or guilt based.
Catholics and Jews are the best examples. Catholics say to their children
"You should be ashamed of yourself" and ews say "You should be so lucky to
have ....".
Many religions associate money with evil. This is simply jealousy and/or
envy. At this point in time there is more money to be made personally than
at any time in history with possibly the exception of the late 1800's to
the early 1900's.
You could really answer these questions yourself if you tried. Try a
thought or logic experiment and use the different variables to come to a
conclusion. Ask youself the following questions
What if there were no bible. How would that change me?
What if I refuse to believe in god? How would that affect my life?
What if everything that my parents told me was wrong and the whole religion
thing is just a way to control the gullible?
What if the bible isn't the "Word of God" and just a collection of ancient
stories told around the campfires at night for entertainment? How would
that change me?
Now if you really want to perform an interesting experiment try actually
tossing out one part of your religion. See what that does to your life and
your attitude.
I think that if you examine yourself after tossing out religion you will
find that it doesn't change you. Well, nothing profoundly.
Religion is self centered. It keeps you focussed on what you should and
shouldn't do and you spend so much time worrying about that you have no
time left for helping others. It also places fear clearly on you. Fear of
going to hell, fear of sinning, fear of being shunned by family, friends,
etc. Wouldn't it be nice not to have fear? Fear of the unknown laws of
God, of a fickle god that changes his mind from one minute to the next?
Fear from hell?
Actually achiving freedom from religion is a great feeling.
You say that you cannot contemplate life without your God and religion and
that you just can't bring yourself to question God and Jesus and the rest?
What makes you differnent than other people who belive in different gods?
Their faith is just as strong as yours. Why is yours better? Both people
were told they are right and other beliefs are wrong. Consider the story
of Lord Ganesh. http://www.crystalinks.com/ganesh.html What makes him
wrong compared to Jesus? Isn't it just as unlikely to rise from the dead
as to be fitted with an elephants head? Our resident Hindu prays to Lord
Ganesh every day before he starts work. It gives him confidence that he
will perform well at his job and that Lord Ganesh will remove the obstacles
from his appointed tasks.
Examine the evidence. What do you have if you take away the bible? What
do I have if that went away? Are you really worshipping a book?
Good luck
