Object: Self-serving foreign aid
Don't believe for one moment that any of this "foreign aid" pouring
into America is based on humanitarianism. A global economy has made
every nation *more* dependent on a strong American economy; in other
words, if we go down, they go down. The last thing any nation on earth
needs is for America to spin into a recession.

If that's what you think then you were naive to ever think ANY international
aid was based on humanitarianism. including that from the US.

If Sri Lanka or Botswana go under, we wouldn'y even know it except for
news reports. Japan would surely hurt but wouldn't send us reeling.

Maybe not, but that doesn't mean that our foreign aid to those
countries isn't self-serving. Money means access and intelligence,
propaganda and appeasement. No nation has ever sent foreign aid for
purely altruistic motives.

Not to mention that what the US publically promises and what we end up
actually giving are two very different things.

Don't believe for one moment that any of this "foreign aid" pouring
into America is based on humanitarianism.

Most of it probably is based on humanitarianism (with the exception of
military troops from Israel...that's political and self-serving for
Israeli murderers...after all, you Jews get billions of dollars every
year from the U.S. tax-payers to fund your war-machine and welfare
cheques).
Even Cuba (an obvious opponent of the U.S. system) had hundreds of good
doctors on standby to help, so that would have had to be humanitarian.

A global economy has made

every nation *more* dependent on a strong American economy; in other
words, if we go down, they go down.

The American economy is already in the doldrums. The rest of the world
isn't too bothered by that. Cuba sure as heck doesn't depend on your
economy.
You are going down, yet you still prefer to spend billions on murdering
innocent men, women and children in Iraq, rather than using that money
to care for the victims of Hurricane Katrina.
You are truly sick.

The last thing any nation on earth

needs is for America to spin into a recession.

You're already in a recession.

It's time you stopped spending billions of dollars on murder in Iraq,
and use that money to help the victims of Katrina.

And how has the American economy become the benchmark for the world? By
giving aid to foreign countries, sometimes for natural disasters but
usually because we went in and blew their country to smithereens, then let
our own corporations go in and "rebuild."

Nonsense, there are several spheres of economic influence in the world
today. No longer is United States predominant power broker. In fact
what is occuring in the energy field, places Asia and Russia in the
forefront of being the leaders in economic field of the world.
United States is mortgaged above its head. If bonds held by Asian and
Arab countries are cashed in some day US would become a third world
country!

Isn't all foreign government aid essentially self-serving anyway? It's
donations from the people and non-governmental organisations that are given
selflessly.
The US doesn't necessarily need money for this tragedy, expertise and possibly
equipment would be more helpful.
