I say "semi-OT" because certain elements of this poem regard my feelings about
the present wars - not so much in condemnation, there's nothing about that
aspect of my feelings here. Anyway, the wars are a big topic in this group at
present, so I'm only considering this slightly off. In my usual style as of
late, it uses heavily archaic language. The last two lines might throw a person
or two, but I'm not going to explain them.
However anyone interprets any given work, don't worry if you understand its
"true meaning". Interpret it into your world, make it yours. That's the
greatest thing any artist can hope to accomplish.
Sincerely,
Bill Shroyer, aka "Uncle Dollar Bill"

Rise not upon the errant tempest tossed fro and to the bog windswept.
Leap not thou from clary depths unto fogs of lofty decadence.
Seek not to fill thy emptiness from founts of excess dryly flowing.
Parched be not they who dwell wherein life lay softly glowing.
Pray not thou to yield for hunger that which cannot fill thy need.
Weigh not now among thy plunder that to wit conceals thy greed.
'Tis no virtue veiling sorrow from every sordid stranger's eyes.
It leads not to a truer morrow when all thy yesterdays be lies.
Lament the morrow whence from the thunder calls us out unto the sea.
Decry no more our errant blunder. Shed nary thou a tear for me.
Yon distant morrow, if ere we meet, a warm embrace our souls surround...
where wiped away, our every sorrow... where readily are troubles drowned.
