I have long felt that the neocon attempt to counter "defeatist"
charges with "All they have to do is wait until the day after we
withdraw" is the most defeatist attitude yet. Since the neocons know
that we can't possibly win, and can only (hope to) stem the tide by
staying, is an implicit admission of defeat. All they can accomplish
in the meantime, is to shovel as much money as they can to Haliburton,
et al, until the tap is turned off.

Not likely. McCain is not a neo-con, for example, he is a old-
fashioned conservative Republican. Nor do I see why I should use
someone else's distorted viewpoint. Neocon is not a synonym for
conservative nor are conservatives a monolithic group. And Brownback
is not a neocon. Here is a hint: the neocons are not particularly
focused on "morality" issues like gay marriage and such.

Part of the absurdity of the entire RINO appelation is the fact that
the term "Republican" is indeed only a name, as is the term
"Democrat". They are the names of parties which are attempting to
cobble together governing coalitions of at least 51 Senators, 218
members of Congress, and 270 Electoral College votes. By definition,
this coalition is going to include widely disparate views under the
umbrella of "Republican" (or "Democrat"). They're not all going to be
social arch-conservatives. They're not all going to agree on policy
A, B or C.
And the notion that Sam Brownback is a RINO is particularly idiotic,
to be quite frank. Really, it's beyond idiotic.
