The Senate majority leader, Bill Frist, deserves credit for moving
gingerly toward a more expansive policy on stem cell research.

During my day job I work under the title of deputy editorial page
editor. That entails paying more than passing attention to articles
that appear on the op-ed page. Opinion writers, in my view, should have
a wide range in which to roam, especially when it comes to edgy,
thought-provoking pieces. Still, I wasn't quite ready for what appeared
on the op-ed pages of Thursday's New York Times or Friday's Post.

It's nice to see Redstate.Org devouring Frist as a "traitor":

Just remember that he was originally (as a doctor)
pro stem-cell, sold his private beliefs down the
river to back the President and became anti-stem
cell, and has now, in the shadow of his own presidential
campaign, decided that being anti-stem cell will cost
him too much, so now he's pro-stem cell.
His presidential campaign will be against Democratic
"wafflers".

Handing Frist the 2008 nomination is a big, big leap.

No. He's a cardiologist. He doesn't know about tears, sweat,
or HIV. He's a DOCTOR, not a scholar.

Yo, that was "remote diagnosis". You know, like "remote
viewing" in parapsychology.
Only not as accurate.
