Object: Send back the Statue
As a French citizen, I hereby asks you USians to send us back that Statue
we gave you over a century ago. With Chimpy (re?)elected, it's clear what
it stands for is now officially considered a joke in America.
Oh, and for the record, I wanna puke.

Everyone who voted for someone else in a Red state (oh, the irony!)
has a legitimate complaint for taxation without representation.

Why aren't those red states considered commie states? :)

They are since they're Christian.

They pretend to hate communism, yet their platform actually
embodies communistic ideas to the core.

I'd be interested in hearing you elaborate on that one...

I would say that their platform embodies fascism, which can be communist
or capitalist.

Perhaps that's a better word than communist. I was talking about them
wanting to control people's lives and freedom of choices.
If Bush and his right-wing cronies and voters had their way, women
couldn't get abortions, gays couldn't marry, no sex ed in schools,
no internet for children 'cause they might see some porn, no books
allowed that they deem evil, etc..

No, you clearly misunderstand them on this.
It's no 'adult' content on the internet, since the pc is a better babysitter
than the toob, and the rugrats can't see anything that puts a different
interpretation on anything than their parents and pastors do.
Atheism anywhere on the net may therefore be banned, as well.

no books
allowed that they deem evil, etc..

You can't have it.

Never mind that. I want my tea and back taxes. At 2.5% compound
interest.

Hmm.. well, that 400 quid you almost won would have bought a whole
barrelful of tea. As for back taxes, we have our own taxational
tyranny here these days, thankyouverymuch. And our own King George.

Who you voted for. So you can't ***** about 'taxational tyranny.'

Yes, but the gent indicated he voted for the Shrub.

Which reminds me. On a state visit to France Chairman Mao was asked

( Okay, Okay, enough smart-assing )
Here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zhou_Enlai
"It is too soon to say" according to whoever wrote this 4 wikipedia.
Then again, Zhou probably said it in French or Chinese, so that is one
nit-pick too far.
As history goes by, more and more statements and actions are
attributed to the most significant persons. I have taken unto myself
the noble task of dispelling such myth-making and mean to install
historical purity in you all! I already spotted this grave failing of
therion's in an earlier conversation, but I was already nit-picking on
something else pretty hard (his grasp of the French language) so I let
it slip.
To be honest, the reason I googled it was that I thought Ghandi had
said that, but of course that wasn't the case. I was thinking about
another famous answer to a question, not about the French revolution,
but about western civilisation. FYI, Ghandi's reply: "I think it would
be a good idea".
