"She killed a bunch of kids, and you don't do that in Harris County," |
This headline could have easily been about the closing of the local abortion
mill. Maybe Andrea Yates should take her cue from Planned Parenthood; have
the ACLU represent her and claim she was only exercising her "Freedom of
Choice", albeit retroactively.

Texas child-killer Yates will have second trial
HOUSTON (Reuters) - Andrea Yates, the Texas mother who drowned her five
children in 2001, will face a second trial after the state's highest
criminal court refused on Wednesday to reinstate the murder convictions
against her.
The Texas Court of Criminal Appeals upheld a lower appeals court's ruling
issued in January that overturned jury verdicts against Yates because of
errors in the testimony of an expert witness.
Harris County District Attorney Chuck Rosenthal said he would try Yates
again as soon as possible. "She killed a bunch of kids, and you don't do
that in Harris County," he said.

iBen, or whoever you are, I woudn't taint contempt with you. In all
seriousness, I think it's time you killed yourself. You have
absolutely no compassion, no soul, no humanity, no understanding and
no reason to go on living.

You're just annoyed because Park Deitz, a witness for the
prosecution the first time around, lied to the jury on the witness stand
that Yates got her ideas from a TV show that, it later turned out,
didn't even exist.
Why don't we take a cue from your playbook and asked what
happened to Ms. Yates's husband? He knew, after the first child, just
how unstable and dangerous she was to children. Yet he stuck his *****
into her five more times. What happened to the call for Personal
Responsibility?
Given what's happened in our White House, of course, I
understand that the notion of "Personal Responsibility" is now regarded
as "quaint" by conservatives.

No, you don't do that in *any* county. I think we're all agreed that
Andrea Yates is a danger to people, and is incapable of separating her
delusions about hell and devils from reality, meaning that she could
not understand her actions, She is a lethally dangerous psychotic, not
a murderer.
Mental illness is exactly that - an *illness* - it is not some sort of
lapse in morality or family values.
'If the diagnosis is confirmed, then Yates was no more responsible
for the deaths of her children than the person with a heart
attack is
responsible for chest pain, shortness of breath, sensations of
impending doom and drenching sweats. Who blames the breast
cancer patient for her tumor, or the Alzheimer's patient for
urinating
on the street, cursing in public, forgetting he was president of
the
United States? It is unthinkable in a civilized society that the
medically ill would be held responsible for exhibiting the
symptoms of their illnesses, and be executed for it.'

No matter how many times you'll post that "abortion = murder", it will
still remain a lie as confirmed by your laws that clearly make a
difference. Why do you hate the USA so much?

I've already *done* that, donny-boy. Read my helpful
contributions about *two* counts of manslaughter if a
driver hits and kills a pregnant woman and her fetus if
the woman intended to have the baby, but only one count
if she intended to abort it.

No, it's a perfectly good answer. You tried to
equivocate between two things that are not morally the
same. If the bird flu kills you, no moral agent is
responsible. If a mentally competent woman flushes a
living human being from her uterus, it is the action of
a moral agent. That's an enormous difference; in fact,
it is THE difference.
I'm happy to clear that confusion up for you.

No. Abortion = murder. It is the extinguishing of human life.
So are quite a few diseases, so why aren't you obsessing on them?
Disease doesn't reflect human immorality. Abortion does.
Nice non-answer.
No, it's a perfectly good answer. You tried to equivocate between two things
that are not morally the same. If the bird flu kills you, no moral agent is
responsible. If a mentally competent woman flushes a living human being from
her uterus, it is the action of a moral agent. That's an enormous difference;
in fact, it is THE difference.
I'm happy to clear that confusion up for you.
What you need to do is accept that your "morals" are not going to be forced on
anyone else without their consent. Have fun choking on that.
Hey, Humphrey, are you opposed to "torture"? If so, why, if not as a
reflection of YOUR version of "morality"? If you don't like torture, don't
torture, but don't try to impose YOUR morality on anyone else. Isn't that
what you say about abortion?

I'd rather leave the woman's decision as to how to handle her pregnancy to her
(and whoever she chooses to involve), as it's her concern. I don't support
torture, either, but that's a different issue, and I'm not surprised that
whiners like you would crawl out of the woodwork to find some excuse to get
attention.

You really should wake up before you start ranting - since I posted no such
reply to anything Craig posted today...and you're quoting Craig's own words.

Since you never resort to name-calling, I'll take that literally. Thanks
for recognizing it.
But that won't detract me from noting that you DODGED the issue, i.e. your
hypocrisy. I'm not the one crying, but that appears to be what you're very
close to doing, if you haven't started already. If you had a cogent
answer, I'm sure you wouldn't hesitate to proffer it.

Sorry about that. You and Chilton are so similarly inane, it's hard to
tell you apart.
