Should terrorists have flown a plane into the UN instead? |
The United Nations building in New York City is located on the waterfront,
so it would have made an easy target and would have been interpreted as an
attack against the entire world instead of just against the United States.
If radical Islamists want to dominate the world with their particular
strain of Islam, then why not plane-bomb the UN?

Unfortunately we have just as large a percentage of hypocrites hiding under
the label of "Muslim" as in any western institution. And often the person
most blind to hypocrisy is the hypocrite himself/herself.
This subject is so important that the Qur'an has an entire chapter labeled
"the hypocrites" (Surah 63:Al-Munafiqun).
Second, the motivation for 9/11 (if really instigated by al-Qaeda) was not
'dominate the world' but simple pay-back and wake-up.
The US has a long history of funding the other side in battle that involve
Muslims. And when it has financed the Muslim side, it has a reputation of
being totally untrustworthy.
Some believing Christians, Jews, and Muslims were in the WTC and died there.
It would have been obvious in any research that this was going to be true.
This (knowingly killing a believer) in our faith, means that the flames may
have been put out in New York but they won't be put out where those
hijackers are for a long long time.

Aside from the Arab-Isreal conflict are their any the US has funded
the non-muslim side where non-muslims were fighting muslims? I
honestly do not know of a single one.

that one in 1948 and are being sore losers. If you would adapt to the
political facts of existence instead of beating your heads against
walls, then the problem would be over with. The Isrealis are not
going to commit suicide and will not sit by while you murder them all,
nor will they give back the land. Arabs have lots of land in that
area so I don't see the issue other than an ego problem.
As the Isrealis have had nuclear weapons since the 1970s or perhaps
before, thinking they can be made to leave is just plain crazy. The
most an Arab power could do is fight a nuclear war with them, and in
that case you will drag the USA and the Russians and the Chinese,
Brtish and French into it, and the big nuclear powers will not be
happy with you over this foolishness.
As a large number of jews settled in the USA mostly long before the
'48 war, Isreal has a built in supporter in Washington. The prudent
thing is to get over it, stop crying over milk spilled 55 odd years
ago and make room for the palestinians in the other arab nations,
since all were carved out of the Ottoman empire anyway.
And when it has financed the Muslim side, it has a reputation of

More like self-interested. We fund when we think their is something
for us to gain ( or not to lose) by funding. We withdraw funding when
it stops being in our interest to pay.

Murder is murder regardless of what the victim's religion is. If your
"faith" allows you to murder people for not agreeing with you, then it
is an evil faith.
If you really think that way, it would be best to keep it to yourself
and expect us to land on you like a ton of bricks dropped from a 100
meter cliff if you act like you are going on Jihad, and that would be
self-defence, not hate of you or islam.
Please to recall that we do have enough nukes to kill everyone on
earth several times over. So far we have been trying very hard not to
kill innocent bystanders even those who are muslim. Pushing the USA
much harder might make us a whole lot less careful, and less concerned
with who gets hurt.
Wake up call?? was the fall of Bagdad a good wake-up call for you as
to who can kick who's ***** how hard? How about the destruction of the

The legitimacy of the various sides is a matter for debate, both sides
have some legitimate and illegitiamate points, however the realistic
proabability of Arabs taking back the land in the forseeable furture

supported by there so called leader Arafat shows they deserve nothing until

While both sides have a fair bit of blood on thier hands, the PLO and
various terrorist orgs. who claime to represent the 'Palestinians' are
far more guilty. The level of internal intimadation, in addition to
the viciousness of thier attacks (the Israeli government deserves
censure for thier carelessness about civilian casualties when
attacking terrorists, HAMAS and the like are making attacks for the
sole purpose of causing civilian casuaties) has robbed the Palestinian
so-called leadership of all moral standing.
That being said, the most desireable result is for the Arabs of the
West Bank and Gaza to be offered full Israeli Citizenship with all the
rights and duties therof. If that is intolerable they would be well
advised to emigrate, but most seem to desire life as free citizens
above all else.

Take a flipping look at the map, and see how much land is in that
area, and how much Isreal takes up. Recall the histroical facts that:
1. All of the people in that area were ruled by the Ottoman Empire
from circa 1200 AD until just after WWI.
2. The British and French were running that area till after WWII, and
people in that area were pretty free to cross borders.
3. Many of the people in that area since ancient times have been
jewish, the Zionists jews were not the only jews in the area, and not
the only land owning jews.
4. During and after the 1948 war refugees crossed the border going
both ways, jews going into Isreal, Moslem Arabs leaving Isreal. The
fact of the matter is that the number of jewish refugees coming into
Isreal from the surrounding Arab nations is almost as many as the
Arabs leaving Isreal. They lost what land they had too, and were
given Isreali citizenship. The moslem arabs that left Isreal were not
given citizenship in any of the surrounding arab nations, even though
they were of the same culture and the difference was where they lived
when the British drew lines on the map and declared land "X" to be
country "Y".
When you understand that, you should realize that the arab whining is
pretty hypocritical in that they took land and other property from
jews living outside Isreal and forced them to flee for their lives to
Isreal. Moslem Arabs that left Isreal were for the most part not
forced to, but did so to avoid being in the crossfire of the war in
'48.

The United Nations building in New York City is located on the waterfront,
so it would have made an easy target and would have been interpreted as an
attack against the entire world instead of just against the United States.
If radical Islamists want to dominate the world with their particular
strain of Islam, then why not plane-bomb the UN?
Should they have? I don't think so. The USA was the target and taking
out the UN would simply place even more of the world against them.
They might have done better with the Statue of Liberty. Fewer deaths
and an even more striking image on TV.
