shrinks |
I have a proposition for the shrinks. I would like to hear a critical self
evaluation of the profession. Its role and function in society and weather
it achieves the ends it sets out to. As a start i would like to know if
anyone has information on the number of shrinks to the number of loons in
different coutries, and weather psychiatry is resposible for said number of
loons. I think it important to establish weather psychiatry is a form of
self fullfilling profession that requireing greater legilation and control.
Those that practice these arts need to open there proffesion to critical
evaluation so we as a community can better access its function.

The number of what you call loons have no relation to the number of
"shrinks".
Loons are the result of stress and sometimes brain damage exacerbated by it.
"Shrinks" deal with the situation after the fact. UNLESS, the same stresses
in society that help create loons also influence the number of people who
decide to become shrinks. The less stress in society, the more people would
be able to become shrinks. that's because stress in society is related to
the need to make money quick, with the least time possible spent learning a
profession. Since shrinks do not create loons, there is not a need to
regulate them, except a need to prevent malpractice and prevent the
violation of human rights, neither of which is significantly related to the
actual creations of loons, since loons existed in plenitude already.

So do English teachers. At least some of them have obviously failed
to perform their function.
