Object: Shroud of Turin
I watched a couple shows about it last night, and one thing none of
them mentioned was what the people who believe in its authenticity
claim exactly caused the image on the shroud in the first place.
Was Jesus' dead body supposed to have come back to life and
he stood up and unwrapped the shroud from his body, or is he supposed
to have turned into energy and beamed himself through the mummy
wrappings?

The on thing, none of these nut jobs have ever tried to discuss, or
disprove, in their silly faith are verse from their own bible.
Luke 24:12, clearly indicates several pieces of cloth.
John 20:3-7, clearly describes two distinct pieces of cloth.
So much for a 14th century fraud. Their own bible damns the thing as a
fake.

Both verses say that a separate piece of cloth covered the head of
Jesus, and the Shroud of Turin is only a single piece of cloth.
I'd say that pretty much destroys the whole thing as a fake, and
wonder why those verses are never mentioned in the documentaries
about it.

Because, they won't discuss them as they *detract* from the sheet
itself. After all, holy relics are a wonder to behold.
Like the two complete skeletons of John the Baptist, one with two left
feet. Guess it's true, John just could not hold his own on the dance floor.
And all those "Mary with a cherry" statues, that weep, bleed, give milk,
and scented oils. Why where in the world would we be, without the
blessed virgin of K-Y?
Enough pieces of "the original cross", (as if there were forged crosses
at the time), to actually build Noah's ark.
James Randi in the book "The Faith Healers", does a pretty good run down
of holy relics, and just how stupid they really are.
People will believe in this sheet from a Nazareth ***** house, because
they want to, not because it's factual, and not because their book of
mythology supports it. They want to believe they have found a "link" to
their savior on a stick. They will look past the *****, because they see
a face.
