RADICAL RIGHT -- 'WAR ON CHRISTIANS' CONFERENCE WILL FEATURE DEBUT OF BOOK
'LIBERALISM KILLS KIDS':
Cultural conservatives will gather in Washington, DC today for a conference
titled "The War On Christians And The Values Voter in 2006." The event was
convened "to consider the savage and accelerating" attacks on the Right
"from the news media, Hollywood, courts and activist groups."
Though seemingly representing the fringe of American conservatism, the
event
will feature talks by some of the most prominent conservative members of
Congress, including Sens. Sam Brownback (R-KS) and John Cornyn (R-TX), and
Rep. Tom DeLay (R-TX). Among the conference panels: "The Gay Agenda:
America
Won't Be Happy," "The Judiciary: Overruling God," and "The Media: Megaphone
For Anti-Faith Values."
Writes Steve Benen, "Perhaps most importantly, the event's organizer,
Baptist minister Rick Scarborough, who tried to create a mini-theocracy in
his Texas hometown in the 1990s, will...unveil his new book: "Liberalism
Kills Kids."
