My "Normal" life> |
So my neighbors across the street are out of town.
Their thirty-two year old son who is a state registered paranoid
schizophrenic showed up at my house with a couple of small plastic
bags of his stuff and nowhere to lay his head down for the night.
He walked five or six miles to get here.
He just got out of the hospital again and sat across from me in my
garage talking weird ***** trash, while tapping out some sort of morse
code on his left palm with his right hand, winking, blinking and
nodding to voices he and he alone can hear.
Now there's nobody here but me for the weekend and I'm not about to
turn him out on the street so here I am.
At the moment he is lying down on the pullout in the living room as
I'm setting in my garage typing this.
Now here's the question...
Say the parents get back in town and the mother says to me
"Ray...thank you so much for taking care of my son, if I can do
anything for you in return please let me know."
Would I be really out of line by asking her to dance in the nude for
me?
Just for a little bit?
Sort of a payoff for being a nice guy?
Seriously, his own parents won't let him stay with them.
They are rightfully afraid of him.
And I'm stacking a lot of stuff against my bedroom door when I head
for bed tonight.
I mean really big stuff.
At any rate if you don't hear from me again you will know what
happened.
I survived this night, the mother returned, agreed to dance in the
nude for me in appreciation for what I have done for her son and I had
a heart attack in the middle of the show.
Aw hell...he's making noises now.
Talking to something or somebody.
Guess I better go check on him.
Damn!
How the hell do I get into this crap?
Lol!
Is this normal or what?

At least this was temporary.
One of the problems with this one is that he won't stay on his meds.
He's out of state for a while now.
I sort of worry about him.

Heh, I don't know.
He was better this afternoon.
His sister came home but she wouldn't let him in.
She called the father in Atlanta and he called me and asked if I would
take the guy to the bus station downtown and get him a one way ticket
to Monroe Louisiana which is where the son wanted to go.
The streets of downtown Memphis are home for quite a few folks just
like him.
The parents are some of the finest people I've ever known but they
can't handle him when he gets dangerous which can happen pretty
quickly.
It's a good thing my bedroom didn't catch fire while I was sleeping

It's all part and parcel of the 'three ring circus without a
ringmaster' called life.
No one expects the paranoid schizophrenic...
/job applicant
"I'm here to apply for your job opening."
/biz person
"What certification(s) do you hold?"
/job applicant
"I'm a state certified paranoid schizophrenic!"
/biz person
"You're hired!"
Lol!
Is this normal or what?
Eeeerrrrrrr. Define 'normal.'
As far as I can figure it's a state of really weird stuff
happening ;-)

That's normal. Gee, why don't you ever run into anything on the
strange side? (wide-eyed)
