Dear Honorable Rev. Robert Camuso,
My name is Yang and I have a rather interesting request to
make. You see, I am an atheist and I have made an online bet wirh a
so-called Catholic by the name of Earl Weber. Since we are looking for
an arbitrator and Earl does not trust his own Catholic priest. I have
taken upon myself to contact a Catholic priest in Seattle out of my
own initiative.
The wager is rather simple. If in the upcomig election Alan
Keyes breaks 40% in the Illnois senatorial election I will give Earl
Weber $100. Otherwise Earl Weber will give me $500. I am asking that
you serve as the role of the arbitor, holding the two checks made out
to the respective wagerees and mailing out the appropriate check to
the winner on November 3rd.
Now since you undoutedly disagree with my philosophical
position on theology, I will make thsi deal more palatable to you. In
the case that I win, I will donate $250 each to the International
Rescue Committee (IRC) and the Catholic Relief Services (CRS), both of
whom have done commendable jobs on helping out international refugees.
I think you will agree with me that these two organizations serve a
very worthy cause.
Of course this depends on whether Earl Weber signs off on
this. He doesn't particularly trust Cathlic priests.
