An interesting site: http://www.anzwers.org/free/universe/

This seems to suggest that the universe is at least 14
billion light-years across.

Many more links appear via Google. Search for: universe
size.

Well obviously it's at least 14 billion light years across.
The universe has been in existance for 14 billion years
and thus out hubble universe (the universe we can currently
observe) is either 14 billion ly across or we'd see the
edge already. --

OK, call me slow, but I've just realised that that argument
would imply that 14b ly. would be the universe's radius, not
it's diameter (and the expansion rate is C, not 1/2 C).

Well, cosmology is not my forte. I did notice the correlation
between the size of the universe and it's age. I concluded that
the universe must be expanding at half the speed of light, is
that so?

Assuming I've interpreted my cosmology books correctly, the universe
expanded so quickly during its early inflationary phase, that it is
now considerably bigger than the 14.7 billion lightyear bubble which
constitutes our visible universe.

Prove the universe exists?

The question meant what does he want to prove, the size or the existence?
Something can exist without having a size.

But before that you have to establish that there is someone there
to do the proving. If you cannot prove that they exist, then
there is no point listening to any so called proof that they
might pretend to present to you.

Do you have any values at all, moral or otherwise?

What does this question have to do with the fact that I couldn't care less how
big the universe is? Perhaps you could explain how the two are possibly
related.
And I'm sure I have more morals and values than you do, sweetie. I just don't
need some sky spook or priest to tell me how to behave - neither do I need
threats of eternal damnation to be a good person, which is something I'm sure
you require.

Ezekiel 13:20 "Wherefore thus saith the
Lord GOD; Behold, I am against your pillows"

The cosmic background radiation is non-uniform and many astronomers now
believe that it represents anomalies in the clouds on the surface formed at
the so-called "Big Bang". Many of them also doubt that anything beyond the
Big Bang can be known since it would be the result of a singularity, such as
a black hole is, so that no information can pass upward form its surface
including light. Which begs the question "What is the relationship of the
information which we have, to the postulated singularity somehow associated
with it?"
