Sleazy bastards. |
That Mark Foley was making obscene passes at teenage boys is a simple
crime story. That he lied to facilitate his crime or to avoid punishment
is common to criminal activity the world over. That he was a member of
the United States House of Representatives only shows that men good and
bad can be found in all walks of life. Leave such criminals to the
criminal justice system.
The true significance of this story is that the Republican leadership
chose to hide these criminal actions rather than protect citizens from
harm. We see in the clear light of day that Dennis Hastert, speaker of
the House of Representatives, John A. Boehner, the majority leader, and
Representative Thomas M. Reynolds, chairman of the National Republican
Congressional Committee care about maintaining their hold on power.
Protecting the American people from harm is nothing but a meaningless
slogan to the sleazy bastards.
