John Kerry Mysterious Combat V! Liberals Hate America!

As the authors of Fake Warriors: Identifying, Exposing and Punishing
Those Who Falsify Their Military Service, we receive scores of emails
on our website either asking questions about the Fake Warrior
phenomenon (which has reached epidemic proportions), or reporting
sightings which sometimes lead to
exposure and even fines or jail terms.
One Vietnam vet with nearly forty years of military service who
retired as a major, spurred on by the revelations in our book, and, in
his words. “having seen hundreds of DD 214s” (a veteran’s Record of
Transfer or Separation), recently decided to take a close look at John
Kerry’s DD 214, which is posted
on his website. What the major called to our attention, which we have
since verified, raises some extremely troubling questions about John
Kerry’s Silver Star. Keep in mind that the Silver Star is the
third-highest medal our Nation can bestow (after only the Medal of
Honor and the three service “Crosses”).
Kerry's DD 214 lists a Silver Star with a combat “V” (for valor). As
the major correctly observes, the “V” is never awarded with the Silver
Star. But the actual wording on Kerry’s DD 214 (see
www.johnkerry.com) is: “SILVER STAR WITH COMBAT ‘V’.”
There is an abundance of anecdotal evidence that a combat “V” (called
a “Combat Distinguishing Device”) is simply not awarded with a Silver
Star. For example, a former Vietnam War POW told us that he has
“three SSs, and there was no V for any of them.” Countless other
Silver Star recipients all say the same thing. Why? Because, among
other reasons, it would be redundant to award a Silver Star for
“gallantry” (the statutory term) and then embellish it with a “V” for
valor.
Most conclusive, however, is that the law is very clear about the
award of Combat Distinguishing Devices. According to the Navy Awards
Manual:
Bronze "V" (Combat Distinguishing Device).
Prior to . . . 1974, the "V" was authorized for wear on the Legion of
Merit, Bronze Star Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Navy
Commendation Medal and Navy Achievement Medal. Between . . .1974 and .
.. . 1991, the "V" was authorized for wear on the Distinguished Flying
Cross, Bronze Star
Medal, Air Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal and Navy
Commendation Medal. [In] . . . 1991, the "V" was authorized for wear
on the Legion of Merit, Distinguished Flying Cross, Bronze Star Medal,
Air Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal and Navy and
Marine Corps Achievement Medal. In all cases, the Combat
Distinguishing Device may only be worn if specifically authorized in

Because the “V” is authorized for only the ten awards cited above, but
not for the Silver Star, Kerry’s Silver Star citation (the
“explanation” of why the award was made) does not even mention the “V”
for valor (see www.johnkerry.com).
The presence of the combat “V” with Kerry’s Silver Star on his DD 214
raises two extremely disquieting questions. How did the unauthorized
“V” get there, and why has Kerry allowed it to remain?
The first question should not be taken lightly because we are talking
about possible federal crimes. We are talking about the possibility
of a forged official document. We are talking, as well, about Title
18, United States Code, Section 1001, which states: “[W]hoever, in any
manner within the jurisdiction of the executive, legislative, or
judicial branch of the United States, knowingly and willfully . . .
makes or
uses any false writing or document knowing the same to contain any
materially false, fictitious, or fraudulent statement or entry, shall
be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than 5 years or
both.”
Was the combat “V” added by a sloppy clerk or a yeoman’s typo thirty
years ago? Was someone pressured or persuaded to add it? If Kerry had
nothing to do with the gratuitously added combat “V,” why didn’t he
have his DD 214 corrected when he was separated from the Navy?
Which gives rise to the second disturbing question: If Kerry was not
a party to the unauthorized “V,” why, for all these years, has he
allowed his DD 214 to remain uncorrected and to repose on his website?
In light of the recent Swift Boat revelations and the cloud they have
cast over Kerry’s awards, one plausible answer is that this is yet
another example of Kerry’s multiple, and increasingly transparent,
lies about his alleged heroics in Vietnam.
Let’s hope it won’t take a controversial TV spot to spark a mainstream
media investigation of how candidate Kerry received an unearned “V”
for valor.

this has quickly been spliced into a promo reel by Moon's movement,
which implies to its followers that the U.S. Congress itself has
crowned the Washington Times owner.

the idea of Jewish collective guilt, Moon's latest world tour calls on
rabbis to repent for betraying Christ, the Jerusalem Post reported
last week. Speaking in Arlington, VA in 2003, Moon said Hitler killed
six million Jews as a penalty for this rejection. And he's frank about
calling for democracy and the U.S. Constitution to be replaced by
religious government that he calls "Godism," calling the church-state
separation the work of Satan. "The church and the state must become
one as Cain and Abel," he said in the same sermon.

Administration, which has given his anti-sex missionaries $475,000 in
Abstinence-Only dollars to bring Moon's crusade against "free sex" to
both black New Jersey high-schoolers and native Africans. The Centers

the only group qualified to receive another, no-bid grant for HIV
education in Africa. Only after a competitor raised objections did the
CDC cancel the grant program entirely. Meanwhile, one of Moon's top

to head AmeriCorps VISTA; and another former church VIP, Josette
Shiner, was given a senior trade position.

poor neighborhoods. From the Bronx to L.A., Moon's people were
convincing pastors to pull the crosses off their walls and replace
them with his Family Federation flag.

followers have come forward to give testimony regarding their
experiences. Several Korean followers of Moon from the 1950's have
gone public in Japan and discussed disturbing elements of Moon's past,
including their allegations of Moon's sexual purification rites and
plagiarism of Moon's doctrine. There are currently hundreds of law
suits against Happy World, a Moon owned company which has been the
subject of one of the largest consumer fraud investigations in
Japanese history. Over 14,000 people have complained that they were

This past year, the first trial resulted in a judgment against the

members in the U.S. when I knew the number was closer to 3,000.

You must know that as soon as the word got out that George Bush had
visited the troops in Iraq on Thanksgiving day, the left started
looking at every nuance of that event in hopes of finding something to
criticize: Some lie, some fraud, some breach of protocol or decency.
Well, it looks like they found it. Do you remember that tray with
the turkey that Bush picked up and held during that thanksgiving
dinner? The Washington Post has now, after what surely must have been
an intensive investigation discovered that
that particular turkey was a decoration, not a turkey destined for
consumption. We're told that a contractor roasted that turkey and
adorned it with grapes and greenery as a decoration for the banquet
table. The Post
is now telling us that picking up a turkey that was not actually
meant to be eaten has "opened new credibility questions for (the)
White House. White House officials are now having to explain that
Bush didn't actually know that this particular turkey was a
decoration."
How desperate can you get? Bush picks up an ornamental turkey and the
Washington Post seizes on this as an example of White House
credibility problems? Good Lord, how pathetic.

Having missed 89 percent of Senate votes this year and having failed
to cast a single vote since March 25, Sen. John Kerry suddenly - and
with great fanfare -- showed up in late June to vote on behalf of
veterans' health care. The vote attracting Mr. Kerry to Washington was
delayed, although he remained at the Capitol long enough to cast
another of his countless votes against missile defense. Attributing
the delay in the health-care vote to scheduling conflicts, the
Republican Senate leadership effectively denied Mr. Kerry the photo-op
he was seeking. Indeed, it seems that Mr. Kerry has spent more than
three decades repeatedly showing up at the Capitol seeking
military-related photo-ops in an effort to jump-start his political
career.
Before returning to the campaign trail, Mr. Kerry declared: "What I'm
telling our veterans is that when you come home, your country will
take care of you because you took care of us." Coming from Mr. Kerry,
this statement elicits two observations about events that happen to
span his political career. The first relates to Mr. Kerry's views of
veterans upon his return from Vietnam more than 30 years ago. The
second relates to his treatment of U.S. armed forces serving today in
Iraq and Afghanistan.
Mr. Kerry first attempted to jump-started his political career in 1971
by staging one of the biggest photo-ops in Senate history. That
incident also involved veterans. But there was a big difference.
Instead of embracing Vietnam combat veterans during his dramatic April
1971 testimony before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Mr.
Kerry issued a blanket indictment against them. He charged those
veterans with "war crimes committed in Southeast Asia -- not isolated
incidents -- but [war] crimes committed on a day-to-day basis with the
full awareness of officers at all levels of command." Mr. Kerry used
his testimony to launch a bid for the U.S. House in 1972. But even the
coattails of George McGovern, whose only state victory in the
presidential campaign that year was Massachusetts, were inadequate to
the task of electing his fellow war protester.
Regarding the present, it is a shame Mr. Kerry apparently doesn't care
about the troops in the field as much as he claims to care about them
once they become veterans. Mr. Kerry successfully ran for the Senate
in 1984 promising to cancel the Apache helicopter, which has played an
indispensable role on the front lines of the war against terrorism in
Iraq. And, unlike his late June photo-op gambit on veterans' health
care, he refused to adjust his campaign schedule in early June to
return to the Senate in order to vote for the $25
billion in emergency funding bill for military operations in Iraq and
Afghanistan.
Mr. Kerry's no-show for the $25 billion spending measure contrasts
sharply with the role he played on the previous Iraq-Afghanistan
emergency spending measure last October. On Sept. 14, five weeks
before the Senate vote, Mr. Kerry was asked about the $87 billion
supplemental appropriation that would have funded military operations
in Iraq and Afghanistan and, incidentally, increased spending for
veterans' health care by $1.3 billion. "I don't think any United
States senator is going to abandon our troops and recklessly leave
Iraq to whatever follows as a result of simply cutting and running.
That's irresponsible," Mr. Kerry asserted, adding, "I don't
thinkanyone in Congress is going to not give our troops ammunition,
not give our troops the ability to defend themselves."
But that is precisely what Mr. Kerry did several weeks later. By the
time the vote was held Oct. 17, Mr. Kerry's presidential campaign was
on life-support; the front-running Howard Dean was relentlessly
pounding him for his 2002 vote to authorize the war against Iraq.
Indeed, two Zogby polls conducted within a week of the Oct. 17 vote
showed Mr. Kerry trailing Mr. Dean 21-9 in Iowa and 40-17 in New
Hampshire. After asserting in September that a "nay" vote would be
"irresponsible" and tantamount to "cutting and running," Mr. Kerry
interrupted his presidential campaign and returned to the Senate with
great fanfare in order to vote against the $87 billion
military-funding and reconstruction bill, which won bipartisan
approval in a 87-12 vote.
That was one of the final votes Mr. Kerry cast last year; but it was
typical of the votes that helped to establish him, according to an
authoritative analysis by the National Journal, as the most liberal
member of the Senate for the entire year. Far more disturbing than the
reality that Democrats will be nominating the most liberal member of
their Senate caucus as their presidential candidate (McGovern redux?)
is the fact that Mr. Kerry was willing to sacrifice the well-being of
the troops in harm's way in order to once again jump-start his
political career.
