Sneaking around to be safe |
"Since a spate of incidents in late 2003, military helicopters have followed
revised flight procedures. They now routinely fly at low altitudes - they
are often seen flying just above the reeds on the Tigris River - and
maintain a zigzag flight pattern to avoid ground fire. Those procedures have
sharply decreased the number of incidents."
In other words it's worse than we have been told.
Our helicopters can't safely fly at a normal altitude anywhere in the land.
Sounds like sneaking around to be safe. A good idea but I thought we won and
only a minority was against us?

Didn't Shrub declare that the war is over?

Nah. The "Mission Accomplished" thing was just celebrating the pilot's
successfully landing him on the carrier's flight deck. It was only his
first flight, you see.

I think he did at one point but haven't heard it mentioned lately. Maybe
someone pointed out that the Geneva convention demands releasing POWs at the
end of a war.

Two points about that:
1. There has to be a country to release them to and a government willing
to receive them.
2. They have to be POW's and not illegal combatants. In fact we have
released all the legitimate POW's, except those charged with crimes like
Saddam.

POWs are only uniformed enemy forces. Since none of the people we're
holding were wearing uniforms ...

works on the basis of reward and punishment. "

Since when has this misadministration told the truth about anything?

How long do I have to find an answer?
I've been watching re-runs of Murphy Brown and it reminded me of something
I warned you all a long time ago. Dan Quayl (I let the potatoe have the "e")
was a test case.

The test case would be very preferable to the current basket case.
