Winter Solstice Celebration
December 21st, 2004
7:00pm - El Cerro Grande - Raleigh, NC
The Winter Solstice occurs this year on Tuesday, December 21nd at
7:41am EST. This is the point in the Earth's orbit with the shortest
amount of sunlight in the Northern Hemisphere, due to the planet's
tilt relative to the plane of the solar orbit.
Join us for a celebration to observe this very real astronomical event
which impacts our daily lives, as well as to look at the year gone by,
talk with old friends and meet new ones. This year's Solstice Party
will be in Raleigh:
El Cerro Grande
2549 S. Saunders Street
Raleigh, NC 27603
919-836-0807
7:00pm
This restaurant is just south of I-40/I-440 Beltline, at the US 401/
South Saunders Street exit. This is along the southernmost section
of the Beltline, which circles Raleigh, and is directly south of the
downtown area.
From either direction along I-40, take the South Saunders Street
exit, 298A or 298B. The restaurant is nearly within sight of
the highway along Saunders Street. Go past the Sam's Club, and
El Cerro Grande will be at the first stop light, across the intersection
from a Fast Fare. Make a Left turn at the light, to enter the
El Cerro Grande parking lot.

just past the Sam's Club and a motel, at the first stop light past the
highway exits.
From the south, take 70 West to Raleigh; take the Saunders Street split
to the left, from 70 West/S. Wilmington Street. The restaurant will be
on the right, about 3/4 mile past the split.
