Solving the problems of atheists |
I think the only reason most of you come here is in search of love and
of each other, and in search of God. Your secret wish is to have God
confirmed to you. But oyu're afraid. That's why there's such a
competition to be the most profame about our Lord, and to denigrate
Him. it's just like little boys trying to be the toughest, when they
all knew deep down that they're just weak.
Atheism is the most macho disease. But at least there is a cure.

Um, no, that's not it at all.
Your secret wish is to have God
confirmed to you.
Sorry, but I don't have any "secret wish".
But oyu're afraid. That's why there's such a

Wrong, once again.
it's just like little boys trying to be the toughest, when they

Macho, eh? I must inform the husband.
BTW, beyotch, what makes you think you can speak for anyone, but yourself?
Talk about typical theist arrogance.

Firstly I'd just like to thank you for coming to an atheist newsgroup
insulting us and telling us what we really believe. Obviously you would
know what I think more than I do myself. Some people might consider it
rude, trollish and beyond ignorant - crazy fools.
Anyway - Do you not believe in Zeus because you're angry at him? How about
Thor? Osiris? Is it your secret wish these guys existed?

It must be fun for you talking through your
hat about something you certainly know
nothing about. You must be a fundamentalist
Christian. No one else would be foolish
enough to send such an deliberately inflamatory
message to an atheist newsgroup. That makes
you a troll. It also means that your message
won't make us angry, but we will be laughing
at your obtuseness and obviousness a whole lot.
Another giveaway is that you only posted to

Ah, but here, sweet Caroline, you're the minority. You've come to our
stomping ground, voluntarily, where you don't have much in the way of
back-up.
You're not going to hear much in the way of "Amen, sister!", or "preach
it, girl!" here.
In fact, you've opened yourself up to abuse - just from the "eye for an
eye" your book espouses. You came here armed with arrogance and
condescencion and have received your just due.
Now, you're going to have to prove your god is something real. You won't
get away with assertions, faith, belief or any of the other claptrap
you're used to. You've only your own words, logic and persuasive ability
going for you here, as the "majority" doesn't support you or accept your
viewpoint as valid.
You came here, on your own, expecting an easy victory over those you hold
in contempt. Instead, you've reaped what you've sown.
Perhaps you'll know, now, provided you possess some measure of human
empathy, how those of us in the minority feel during encounters with the
faithful.
Perhaps you'll recognize the same techniques that have been utilized
against you, have been utilized by those like you against us.
Pardon me, except for the one technique that atheists tend to use most
often - reason.
It's clear you have little familiarity with reason. That being the case,
expect to be abused.

And lo, it came to pass that did attempt to
escape burning at the stake, by proclaiming in alt.atheism:
You are in the minority, something along the
lines of 3%.
It depends where you are. The figure for the US is 3-9%. If you're in
Europe it is as high as 85% for some countries.
http://www.adherents.com/largecom/com_atheist.html
You'll notice that the figures, even for the US, are still higher than
that for many other minority groups.
Worldwide, atheism is the third largest "belief group" after Christianity
and Islam.
I am in the majority something along the lines of 97%.
Why do you need to be in the majority? The majority is not automatically
right.

This is a disgracefully abusive post. You don't want anyone to tell you
who you are, do you? From reading these answers, it'd sound like I'm in
the minorty and not you. You are in the minority, something along the
lines of 3%. I am in the majority something along the lines of 97%.
I love it when you talk dirty.
Can you wear the Nun's habit again, just for me?
I wonder if she has a friend who'll tell me I'm just angry at god, too.
We could have a threesome. Or four, if you wanna join in >;D
She could ask a Wholly Ghost.

Atheism is the most macho disease. But at least there is a cure.
1. If you are looking for God, Alt.Atheism is not the place to be.
God is a spiritual entity and thus only exists in the human mind.
2. I have no secret wishes.
I whish you well.
3. I am not afraid,
that is why I post under my own name.
4. There are women on alt.atheism too.
5. Atheism is more common under the higher educated,
I do not think higher education is a disease.
But about one thing you are right,
we are looking for each other (not for you)
As far as Love goes,
I get plenty from my wife (and Pineapple too)
Thank you

And WTF do you think Christianity is? A pluralist, feminist ideology
which spread its word through love, respect for diversity and sweet,
sweet reason?

Love is either there or it is not,
love of humanity,
not imitation gods, in the likeness of humans.

confirmed to you. But oyu're afraid.
Now what would anyone be afraid of? You completely miss the point that
religions were born of fear in the first place well before The Stone Age
when man understood virtually 'nothing' so everything was fearful, hence
the expression 'evil spirits'. In some parts of Africa medicine men
still perform rituals to drive out Evil Spirits and this fear is
instinctive in us going back millions of years. Evil Spirits do not
exist any more than the gods exist, gods that were inventedto chase them
away.
That's why there's such a
competition to be the most profame about our Lord,
I see little profanity about your lord here, most comments here are
directed at the people who are driven by superstition. What would be the
point of being profane about something one knows is simply imaginary ?
and to denigrate
Him.
See above
it's just like little boys trying to be the toughest, when they
all knew deep down that they're just weak.
Emmett's description below of atheisism is one of the best I have yet to
see, especially his final line.
Instead of directing your energy towards a huge proportion of humanity,
try taking off your blinkers and study the world around you instead of
gazing skywards where we now fly commercial aircraft, the place,
incidentally, where my great great grandpa told me that "god lived"!
Atheism is the most macho disease. But at least there is a cure.
It is a human concern, you really are obsessed with free thinkers aren't
you, read Emmett below:
Bob
humanist Brit.
Hong kong
"Atheism is the world of reality, it is reason, it is freedom. Atheism
is human concern, and intellectual honesty to a degree that the religious
mind cannot begin to understand. And yet it is more than this. Atheism is
not an old religion, it is not a new and coming religion, in fact it is
not, and never has been, a religion at all. The definition of Atheism is
magnificent in its simplicity: Atheism is merely the bed-rock of sanity
in a world of madness."
[Atheism: An Affirmative View, by Emmett F. Fields]
I hope that you have learned something about Atheism today and that you
will view things a little differently in future.
Have a good weekend
Bob

Well we do come here looking for compnioship of sorts.
I had a quick search for God - didnt find it - and have "moved on" to
looking for truth in whatever form I can find.
I try not to limit myself to searching for false idols to worship.
<Your secret wish is to have God

No. Your mind-reading abilities are not as accurate as you believe.
But oyu're afraid.
Sometimes - but not of "God" though.
That's why there's such a

Your Lord is your own business - I dont have a "Lord".
Don't feel the need for one either.

School boy taunts!
I am not impressed.
Atheism is the most macho disease. But at least there is a cure.
More insults - how impressive!
By the way...
What are the "problems of atheists"?
You didnt say.
Mark.
