11 And it is my will, saith the Lord God of Israel,

Thank you for your advertisement of the primitive backwardness
and sheer stupidity of your religion.

You're more than welcome.
19 From the time that it goeth forth it shall take you: for morning by
morning shall it pass over, by day and by night: and it shall be a vexation
only [to] understand the report.
20 For the bed is shorter than that [a man] can stretch himself [on it]: and
the covering narrower than that he can wrap himself [in it].
21 For the LORD shall rise up as [in] mount Perazim, he shall be wroth as
[in] the valley of Gibeon, that he may do his work, his strange work; and
bring to pass his act, his strange act.
22 Now therefore be ye not mockers, lest your bands be made strong: for I
have heard from the Lord GOD of hosts a consumption, even determined upon
the whole earth.
(Old Testament | Isaiah 28:19 - 22)
I was commanded on Jan. 15, 2008, to post regarding the ESPN article
on the pro football genius, Coach Bill Belichick.
They obey Belichick, but they won't obey the Lord God of Isaiah and Daniel!
My, what an insult to Real Power!
Now, allow me to continue my proposed advertisement of Real Power
for Super Bowl Sunday:

The two profiles of Belichick seem to be in conflict -- until you examine
the roots of organized sports in America, dating back to the early 20th
century.
"The equivalent figure is Andrew Carnegie," says Allen Guttmann, an Amherst
College professor and one of the leading researchers on the origins of the
games Americans play. "He was a fairly ruthless entrepreneur in the steel
industry. And there were bloody strikes at the Carnegie mills. He didn't
lose a lot of sleep about that. At the same time, the guy was endowing
libraries all over the country and setting up foundations. So he was on both
sides of the fence."
Like many corporate titans of the Gilded Age, Carnegie was a big fan of
Charles Darwin, whose biological writings on survival of the fittest were
used by some to rationalize a naked, sometimes unethical pursuit of great
fortunes. Social Darwinists were the most extreme of the lot. Their brutal
worldview held that the weak needed to perish in order for society to
advance. At the other end of the political spectrum stood Utopian
Socialists. Among them was the man whose name adorns the Patriots' stadium,
King C. Gillette. The razor-blade magnate thought all industry should be
taken over by a single corporation owned by the public and that everyone in
the U.S. ought to live in a giant city called Metropolis powered by Niagara
Falls.
It was an era of big, clashing ideals, and free enterprise won out. Just
after the turn of the century, industrialists bankrolled the first
public-school athletic leagues, hoping to promote competition as a social
virtue and introduce immigrant children to that vision of the American way
of life. (This school-based model of sports would stand in contrast to the
club-based model that emerged in Europe.) Carnegie, in fact, was among the
benefactors of New York City's influential Public Schools Athletic League.
Less than a month after the PSAL was formed, in 1903, the first basketball
tournament was held at Madison Square Garden, with the champ claiming a $300
trophy -- $7,090 in today's dollars -- donated by a copper-fortune heir.
So it should come as no surprise that the next few decades saw the creation
of institutions and awards that glorified individual accomplishment. The
Heisman Trophy was named after legendary Georgia Tech coach John Heisman,
whose team once beat Cumberland College 222-0 because -- it could. (And
because Heisman was bent on revenge after the Cumberland baseball team had
run up the score on Tech's squad.)
The rise of pro leagues only served to encourage unrestrained, aggressive,
even vindictive behavior. In 1940, the Bears beat the Redskins 73-0 to win
the NFL title after being called quitters and crybabies by Washington's
owner following a regular-season loss to the Redskins. So many footballs
were kicked into the stands that refs asked Chicago coach George Halas to
run or pass for the PAT on the last two touchdowns. Later, Vince Lombardi
may or may not have said "Winning isn't everything, it's the only thing,"
but that widely repeated quote captured the sentiment of many Americans who,
in the decades after World War II, understood that to the triumphant go the
spoils.
....
The job of an NFL coach is to create wins, so that large, rich men can smoke
cigars, or praise Jesus, amid confetti. Belichick appreciates this more than
most.
Chicanery, n.
trickery used to gain an advantage.
No need for chicanery any more, I would presume, since Coach now has both
Tom Brady AND Randy Moss under his command.

Opinions on Pats' tactics mixed among holdovers from Eagles' NFC title team
Associated Press
Updated: September 13, 2007
....
After the Patriots beat the Eagles 24-21 in 2005 to win the Lombardi Trophy,
Brown thought the Patriots beat them with nothing but sharp offensive
playcalling. Now, he's not so sure.
With spying accusations leveled this week against the Patriots, some of the
Eagles left from the NFC title team are wondering if New England used
bootleg film to their advantage in the Super Bowl.
"Do I think about it? Mmm hmmm," said Brown, their starting cornerback.
"It's crazy. I just don't know how far back it goes. Something's not right
about that."
Pro Bowl safety Brian Dawkins found the accusations troublesome.
"Now there's always going to be questions about the situation," Dawkins said
Thursday. "Was it great adjustments at halftime or what?"
Pittsburgh wide receiver Hines Ward said this week that he suspected the
Patriots had some type of inside information on the Steelers before at least
one of the teams' two AFC championship game matchups since the 2001 season.
While Ward said the Patriots knew a lot of Pittsburgh's calls, none of the
Eagles could offer any type of solid proof of any shenanigans.
"For me to think back two years ago about something they may or may not have
done, it's not worth my time," running back Brian Westbrook said.
New England beat the New York Jets in last Sunday's season opener in which
an on-field video camera allegedly focusing on Jets coaches was confiscated
from a Patriots employee.
On Thursday, New England coach Bill Belichick was fined the NFL maximum of
$500,000 and the Patriots were ordered to pay $250,000. NFL commissioner
Roger Goodell also ordered the team to give up next year's first-round draft
choice if it reaches the playoffs and second- and third-round picks if it
doesn't.
"I would like to think it's just one team doing it, but it doesn't shock me
that it happened," Dawkins said.
Some Eagles said occasional signal-stealing is an accepted part of the game.
But they believe what the Patriots are accused of doing crosses the football
morality line because it threatens the integrity of the game.
"It's different if you're talking about recording it," Dawkins said. "What
can you do if you try to signal a play in?"
Eagles coach Andy Reid [who is, incidentally, a Cultural Mormon] steered
away from questions about the alleged cheating other than to say he has no
doubts New England's victory was legitimate.
"That's something Bill and the Patriots are working through," Reid said.
Brown said he noticed a difference in New England's playcalling in the
second quarter. After the Patriots gained only 45 yards in the first
quarter, they had 286 over the next three.
Brady hit running back Corey Dillon and gained 29 total yards on a pair of
screens to open New England's first full drive of the second quarter. They
didn't score on that drive, but did on four of the next five drives.
The Patriots went to the screen pass again on the decisive drive early in
the fourth quarter, this time with Brady connecting with Kevin Faulk on two
passes for 27 yards.
"I was like, 'Man, I never saw that many screens,' " Brown said.
Brown wonders if it was normal playcalling from a team good enough to win
three Super Bowls in four seasons, a Patriots team that used a strong
scouting report to gain a fair edge, or was somebody picking up the Eagles
defensive calls from a sideline camera that deprived them of a fair shot?

Patriots Cheated in Super Bowl XXXIX?
Super Bowl 39. In Eagles fans memories, it goes down as the one they let get
away. Everybody remembers how turnovers were crucial mistakes, and how the
Eagles apparently forgot how to run the 2 minute offense at the end of the
game down ten points.
This painful memory still haunts Philadelphia fans today. Some still seek
answers, as to what went wrong in the big game, and many choose not to
relive that game ever again. I don't blame them. Until now.
The news has come out, that the New England Patriots are cheaters. In a
nasty scandal dubbed "Spygate", the Patriots were caught red handed,
stealing defensive signals from their opponent.
Many ask now, how long has this been going on?
Who knows. Many teams have accused the Pats of doing this very thing before,
but there has never been any hard evidence until now. Hopefully more details
can be dug up.
I am sure Eagles fans only want to know one thing.
Did the Patriots cheat in the Super Bowl?
That is an answer that nobody will probably ever know, except the Patriots
themselves. When you look at how that game played out though, the
circumstantial evidence appears to be there.
While there were many factors, that decided that game, I am going to only
focus on the Patriots offense, against the Eagles defense. In that aspect,
it was a tale of two halves.
In the first half of the game, the Eagles defense was playing great. They
were swarming to the ball, breaking up passes, getting sacks, disrupting
Brady, and they even forced a fumble in the red zone. They had tamed the
Pats offense, and at the end of the half, the score was tied at 7.
Then came the third quarter. The Patriots came out a different team, and
were suddenly advancing the ball at will. It seemed that for every Jim
Johnson blitz, the Patriots executed the perfect screen to beat it. Brady
was suddenly able to hit Deon Branch almost at will, and the Eagles defense
was on their heels.
What was so different in the second half?
The Patriots knew what the Eagles defense was doing, because they had stolen
their signals. Just like the Jets game, they had somebody record all the
defensive signals in the first half, and matched them up to the sky shots
that are given by every team, to see what a defense is doing every play.
With this information, they knew what the defense was doing before they even
walked to the line of scrimmage. They had an unfair competitive advantage,
and I believe it cost the Eagles, and the city of Philadelphia a
championship.

Hey, whatever it takes, man! saith Hilbert Kleinstein.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Hilbert
David Hilbert (January 23, 1862 - February 14, 1943) was a German
mathematician, recognized as one of the most influential and universal
mathematicians of the 19th and early 20th centuries. ...
Hilbert and his students supplied significant portions of the mathematical
infrastructure required for quantum mechanics and general relativity. ...
Hilbert invited Einstein to Göttingen to deliver a week of lectures in
June-July 1915 on general relativity and his developing theory of
gravity.[25] The exchange of ideas led to the final form of the field
equations of General Relativity, namely the Einstein field equations and the
Einstein-Hilbert action. In spite of the fact that Einstein and Hilbert
never engaged in a public priority dispute, there has been some dispute
about the discovery of the field equations.
http://home.earthlink.net/~jsgaravelli/MYTALK.HTML
The race between Hilbert and Einstein had been very close indeed, but
Hilbert always acknowledged that Einstein had the original inspiration for
the Equivalence Principle.
<Get your money for nothing, and your chicks for free>
Yup, *that* race to be first to derive the equations of a branch of
pseudophysics, anticipating the brutal race to win the annual world
championship of a pseudosport, the Super Bowl, as it is called. Besides,
Relativity was linked to Evolution long before the days of Lorentz,
Poincaré, Einstein by Herbert 'survival of the fittest' Spencer, in his 1862
publication, _First Principles of a New System of Philosophy_:
http://www.constitution.org/hs/first_prin.htm
"In his mind," says one prominent agent, "winning is morality."
Ted Johnson can tell you the price of that philosophy. He's a former
linebacker for the Patriots. A year ago, he went public with the news that,
since he retired in 2005, he has suffered from clinical depression, the
result of post-concussion syndrome. Johnson says his condition might have
been averted if Belichick hadn't submitted the linebacker to regular
on-field contact, against the team trainer's advice, after one damaging
head blow. Johnson allows that NFL coaches in general have made little
effort to protect players' brains, and he's filed no lawsuit. He says he
just wants to bring awareness to an important issue.
Still, the former team captain has never gotten a call from Belichick
or anyone with the team. ...
Still, to gain not only the respect but the admiration of most Americans
it's not enough just to dominate. You have to move the game forward. Even
the Social Darwinists believed in progress as the desired outcome of sorting
winners and losers.
The thing is, Belichick has every chance of delivering on that promise. To
watch his latest incarnation is to watch the game being mastered, perhaps
for the first time in history. ... Belichick is showing that
bigger-stronger-faster
isn't the key to victory, a fine lesson in an era when head and other
injuries
have become the No. 1 issue in the game, from the pros down to the youth
levels. In the morality-free zone that he (and Dungy) inhabits, Belichick
ball
counts as an advance. It's just not clear whether he recognizes that human
capital is still, well, human.

Seahawks could be peak of Allen's post-Microsoft career
By TODD BISHOP
P-I REPORTER
Since leaving Microsoft Corp. more than two decades ago, company co-founder
Paul Allen has poured his time and effort -- and a big chunk of his net
worth -- into ventures as varied as cable television, real estate, hand-held
computers, brain research, a rock 'n' roll museum, digital media and
spaceflight.
But for all his "Wired World" business ambitions and far-flung interests, a
different type of investment could now define Allen's post-Microsoft era.
The appearance by the Seattle Seahawks in Sunday's Super Bowl will be a
milestone not only for the franchise but also for Allen, as its owner. It's
one of the high points for a man whose business investment record has been
decidedly mixed in the years following his profitable partnership with Bill
Gates.
"You're playing in the Super Bowl -- it just doesn't get any better than
that," Allen said by phone Friday from Detroit.
The success of the team follows a period in which Allen replaced top
executives and took a more disciplined approach across many of his
enterprises -- including the Seahawks. Coach Mike Holmgren cites Allen's
greater involvement as one of the factors that has improved the operation of
the franchise.
From a pure business perspective, the Super Bowl appearance promises to
further increase the value of the Seahawks franchise, acquired by Allen in
1997 for $194 million and valued at $823 million in last year's Forbes
magazine ranking.
But to capitalize on that increase, Allen would need to sell the team, and
people involved in the original deal say he has never seemed to view his
role as Seahawks owner in those terms.
"It was very clear from the very beginning, it was not a matter of business,
but he was going to do this for the community," recalled former Gov. Gary
Locke, who, as King County executive, helped orchestrate the 1997 sale to
Allen after then-Seahawks owner Ken Behring attempted to move the team to
California.
To be sure, not everyone in Seattle feels good about the situation.
Resentment lingers, for example, over the manner in which Qwest Field was
financed, with a slight majority of residents agreeing through a referendum
to pay $300 million of the $430 million budget. Allen's company agreed to
cover the remainder, and he made that public-private financing of the
stadium a condition of his purchase of the team.

CBC News
Bill Gates, seen at the AIDS conference in Toronto in August of last year,
believes an AIDS vaccine will be developed in his lifetime.
(Adrian Wyld/Canadian Press)
Microsoft founder Bill Gates expects an AIDS vaccine will be developed while
he's around to see it, he told CBC News in an interview Friday.
"In my lifetime, I would be very surprised if we don't have a vaccine for
AIDS," he told the CBC's Peter Mansbridge in an exclusive interview in
Redmond, Wash.
Gates, 51, has been heavily involved in the fight against the disease. He
and his wife, Melinda, started a foundation that has donated more than $500
million US to combating AIDS, as well as tuberculosis and malaria.
Gates said there has already been significant progress to eliminate diseases
like polio and to develop drugs against illnesses like malaria. He
acknowledged that AIDS has proven the toughest to fight, but that doesn't
mean solutions won't be coming.

Attached is the result of your effort. The total number of converts
from atheism to your moronic superstition is: zero.

The Lord's priority is quality, not quantity.
Earlier this week, I handed a Lamanite fellow a copy of the Book of Mormon,
as I had promised him I would earlier this month of January. For in
December, I had showed him a healthy, low cost way of preventing colon
cancer, which natural diet supplement he has tried at my prompting and found
that he has more bowel movement than ever. This week, I told him that the
Book of Mormon is for his mind, just as my dietary counsel to him was for
his body. He has so far received both things with gladness. (I've been
gingerly
preaching to him since about middle of last year, when during a conversation
about women the Spirit prompted me to tell him that Jesus Christ was
married.)
Not long after handing the good man a copy of the Book of Mormon this week,
the Holy Ghost testified to me of the Lord's commandment:
"Feed my sheep."
14 Now, I say unto you, and what I say unto you, I say unto all the Twelve:
Arise and gird up your loins, take up your cross, follow me, and feed my
sheep.
(Doctrine and Covenants | Section 112:14)
Heber C. Kimball:
Our tea is adulterated, our ginger and pepper, and almost everything
that we have to purchase is treated in the same manner, and I think
we may safely conclude that this is an adulterous generation, and by
their evil practices they are bringing upon themselves swift destruction.
They have commenced the work of their own extermination, and
who can help it? No one, except the Almighty.
~~Journal of Discourses, Vol.9, Pg. 372, February 9, 1862
Brigham Young:
Now, sisters, will you take notice, and instruct those who are not here
to-day, to adopt this rule--stop your children from eating meat, and
especially fat meat; let them have composition to drink, instead of
unhealthy water; let them eat a little milk porridge; let them eat sparingly
and not oppress the stomach so as to create a fever. No matter whether
it is a child or a middle-aged person, whenever the stomach is over-loaded
and charged with more than is required it creates a fever; this fever
creates
sickness, until death relieves the sufferer. Now the people do not think of
this. You ought to have thought of it. I have taught this for years and
years
to the people. ... Now, here let me throw in a side remark. I do not mean
to go without food and go to fasting. This is the other extreme. A
sufficient
amount of food that will agree with the stomach is healthy, and should be
partaken of. Aged or middle aged, youth or children, never should go
without food until their stomachs are faint, demanding something to sustain
their systems, and continue to undergo this; for this lays the foundation of
weakness, and this weakness will tempt disease. But keep the stomach in
a perfectly healthy condition. Now I do not mean fasting, but eating
moderately;
and if my sisters will go home and commence to adopt this rule, you will
find
that you begin to get better, your children and neighbors will get better.
We
do not expect all to be free from sickness. I have had a great deal of
sickness
in my life. I do not expect to be free from the ills, the weakness,
debility
and disease that prey upon the human family, but we can amend our ways,
and amend our life by being prudent; and I wish the sisters to understand
this,
and to adopt these instructions; and if you do not learn before the month of
July is gone that your sickness has departed, I shall be very much
disappointed.
So much for the health of the people. Will you listen?
~~Journal of Discourses, Vol.19, Pgs.69-70, July 19, 1877
About two years ago, I had my own stomach troubles (I think l read
somewhere recently that out of different types of cancers, that of lung
is the #1 killer and that of stomach is the #2 killer, in the U.S.) and
while reading a website, I read:
"Death begins in the colon."
The Spirit of the Lord had immediately borne witness to me of that saying.
It turns out that the Lion of the Lord (the Apostle Brigham) had taught
this, as evidenced in the above J of D citation. A healthy stomach
engenders immunity from a host of maladies, such as the flu.
immunity, n.
1. the ability of an animal or plant to resist infection.
Gesundheit!
Brigham Young:
Then you may take the class called merchants, also the doctors, the
priests in the various sects, the lawyers, and every person engaged in any
branch of business throughout the world, and, as a general thing, they are
all taught from their childhood to be more or less dishonest.
~~Journal of Discourses, Vol.6, Pg.72, November 22, 1857
23 ... for thy merchants were the great men of the earth; for by thy
sorceries were all nations deceived.
(New Testament | Revelation 18:23)
Brigham Young:
Doctors and their medicines I regard as a deadly bane to any community.
Give your children, when sick, a little simple herb drink; and if they have
eaten too much let them go without food until their stomachs are cleansed
and purified, and have faith in the name of Jesus and in the ordinances of
his Church, and they will live. That is my faith with regard to this thing.
I am not very partial to doctors and lawyers, I can see no use for them
unless it is to raise grain or go to mechanical work. But I need not go
into this subject at the present.
We say forgive us of our errors, accept the truth and love and serve God
that you may be saved in his kingdom, which I ask in the name of Jesus.
Amen.

1 JUDGE not, that ye be not judged.
2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure
ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.
3 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but
considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?
4 Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine
eye; and, behold, a beam [is] in thine own eye?
5 Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then
shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.
(New Testament | Matthew 7:1 - 5)
36 Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful.
37 Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be
condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven:
38 Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and
shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with
the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.
(New Testament | Luke 6:36 - 38)
A revelation of Jesus Christ, received by the Prophet Joseph Smith:
4 Behold, verily, thus saith the Lord unto you: In consequence of evils and
designs which do and will exist in the hearts of conspiring men in the last
days, I have warned you, and forewarn you, by giving unto you this word of
wisdom by revelation--
5 That inasmuch as any man drinketh wine or strong drink among you, behold
it is not good, neither meet in the sight of your Father, only in assembling
yourselves together to offer up your sacraments before him.
6 And, behold, this should be wine, yea, pure wine of the grape of the vine,
of your own make.
7 And, again, strong drinks are not for the belly, but for the washing of
your bodies.
8 And again, tobacco is not for the body, neither for the belly, and is not
good for man, but is an herb for bruises and all sick cattle, to be used
with judgment and skill.
9 And again, hot drinks are not for the body or belly.
10 And again, verily I say unto you, all wholesome herbs God hath ordained
for the constitution, nature, and use of man--
11 Every herb in the season thereof, and every fruit in the season thereof;
all these to be used with prudence and thanksgiving.
12 Yea, flesh also of beasts and of the fowls of the air, I, the Lord, have
ordained for the use of man with thanksgiving; nevertheless they are to be
used sparingly;
13 And it is pleasing unto me that they should not be used, only in times of
winter, or of cold, or famine.
14 All grain is ordained for the use of man and of beasts, to be the staff
of life, not only for man but for the beasts of the field, and the fowls of
heaven, and all wild animals that run or creep on the earth;
15 And these hath God made for the use of man only in times of famine and
excess of hunger.
16 All grain is good for the food of man; as also the fruit of the vine;
that which yieldeth fruit, whether in the ground or above the ground--
17 Nevertheless, wheat for man, and corn for the ox, and oats for the horse,
and rye for the fowls and for swine, and for all beasts of the field, and
barley for all useful animals, and for mild drinks, as also other grain.
18 And all saints who remember to keep and do these sayings, walking in
obedience to the commandments, shall receive health in their navel and
marrow to their bones;
19 And shall find wisdom and great treasures of knowledge, even hidden
treasures;
20 And shall run and not be weary, and shall walk and not faint.
21 And I, the Lord, give unto them a promise, that the destroying angel
shall pass by them, as the children of Israel, and not slay them. Amen.

Scent of a Führer
Hitler wanted to control the world.
But he couldn't even control his flatulence.
By Tony Perrottet
Guests at the Berghof, Hitler's private chalet in the Bavarian Alps, must
have endured some unpleasant odors in the otherwise healthful mountain air.
It may sound like a Woody Allen scenario, but medical historians are
unanimous that Adolf was the victim of uncontrollable flatulence. Spasmodic
stomach cramps, constipation and diarrhea, possibly the result of nervous
tension, had been Hitler's curse since childhood and only grew more severe
as he aged. As a stressed-out dictator, the agonizing digestive attacks
would occur after most meals: Albert Speer recalled that the Führer,
ashen-faced, would leap up from the dinner table and disappear to his room.
This was an embarrassing problem for a ruthless leader of the Third Reich.
With uncharacteristic concern for his fellow human beings, Hitler had first
tried to cure himself when he was a rising politician in 1929 by poring over
medical manuals, coming to the conclusion that a largely veg diet would calm
his turbulent digestion as well as make his farts less offensive to the
nose. A rabid hypochondriac, he would also examine his own feces on a
regular basis and administer himself camomile enemas. Hitler decided to
swear off meat completely in 1931, when his niece (and presumed romantic
interest) Geli Raubel committed suicide: When presented with a plate of
breakfast ham the next morning, he pushed it away muttering, "It's like
eating a corpse." From that squeamish moment on, great piles of vegetables,
raw or pulped into a baby mulch, were Hitler's daily staple. (All cooked
foods, he decided, were carcinogenic). He showed a particular fondness,
culinary historians assure us, for oatmeal with linseed oil, cauliflower,
cottage cheese, boiled apples, artichoke hearts and asparagus tips in white
sauce. Strangely, Hitler was unfazed by the fact that this high-fiber diet
was having the opposite effect on his digestion than what he had intended:
His private physician, Dr. Theo Morell, recorded in his diary that after
Hitler downed a typical vegetable platter, "constipation and colossal
flatulence occurred on a scale I have seldom encountered before."
Hitler's stomach problems may even have played their part in his losing the
war, thanks to this shadowy figure of Dr. Morell, an incompetent quack who
took over Hitler's medical care in 1937. The pair had met at a Christmas
gathering in the Berghof, the bucolic mountain retreat decorated with
Bavarian knick-knacks and edelweiss, the year before. Morrell was an
unpleasant figure even by Nazi standards - grossly obese, with frog-like
features, sulfurous B.O. and venomous halitosis. But when he cured a painful
case of eczema on Hitler's legs and provided temporary relief for his
stomach cramps, the Führer was won over. To the irritation of other Nazi
doctors, Hitler then proceeded to swallow any of Morell's advice, no matter
how hair-brained, for the next eight years.

5 Then said these men, We shall not find any occasion against this Daniel,
except we find [it] against him concerning the law of his God.
6 Then these presidents and princes assembled together to the king, and said

7 All the presidents of the kingdom, the governors, and the princes, the

8 Now, O king, establish the decree, and sign the writing, that it be not
changed, according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which altereth not.
9 Wherefore king Darius signed the writing and the decree.
10 ¶ Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his
house; and his windows being open in his chamber toward Jerusalem, he
kneeled upon his knees THREE TIMES a day, and prayed, and gave thanks
before his God, as he did aforetime.
11 Then these men assembled, and found Daniel praying and making
supplication before his God.
12 Then they came near, and spake before the king concerning the king's
decree; Hast thou not signed a decree, that every man that shall ask [a
petition] of any God or man within thirty days, save of thee, O king, shall
be cast into the den of lions? The king answered and said, The thing [is]
true, according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which altereth not.
13 Then answered they and said before the king, That Daniel, which [is] of
the children of the captivity of Judah, regardeth not thee, O king, nor the
decree that thou hast signed, but maketh his petition three times a day.
14 Then the king, when he heard [these] words, was sore displeased with
himself, and set [his] heart on Daniel to deliver him: and he laboured till
the going down of the sun to deliver him.
15 Then these men assembled unto the king, and said unto the king, Know, O
king, that the law of the Medes and Persians [is], That no decree nor
statute which the king establisheth may be changed.
16 Then the king commanded, and they brought Daniel, and cast [him] into the
den of lions. [Now] the king spake and said unto Daniel, Thy God whom thou
servest continually, he will deliver thee.
17 And a stone was brought, and laid upon the mouth of the den; and the king
sealed it with his own signet, and with the signet of his lords; that the
purpose might not be changed concerning Daniel.
18 ¶ Then the king went to his palace, and passed the night fasting: neither
were instruments of musick brought before him: and his sleep went from him.
19 Then the king arose very early in the morning, and went in haste unto the
den of lions.
20 And when he came to the den, he cried with a lamentable voice unto
Daniel: [and] the king spake and said to Daniel, O Daniel, servant of the
living God, is thy God, whom thou servest continually, able to deliver thee
from the lions?
21 Then said Daniel unto the king, O king, live for ever.
22 My God hath sent his angel, and hath shut the lions' mouths, that they
have not hurt me: forasmuch as before him innocency was found in me; and
also before thee, O king, have I done no hurt.
23 Then was the king exceeding glad for him, and commanded that they should
take Daniel up out of the den. So Daniel was taken up out of the den, and no
manner of hurt was found upon him, because he believed in his God.
24 ¶ And the king commanded, and they brought those men which had accused
Daniel, and they cast [them] into the den of lions, them, their children,
and their wives; and the lions had the mastery of them, and brake all their
bones in pieces or ever they came at the bottom of the den.
25 ¶ Then king Darius wrote unto all people, nations, and languages, that
dwell in all the earth; Peace be multiplied unto you.
26 I make a decree, That in every dominion of my kingdom men tremble and
fear before the God of Daniel: for he [is] the living God, and stedfast for
ever, and his kingdom [that] which shall not be destroyed, and his dominion
[shall be even] unto the end.
27 He delivereth and rescueth, and he worketh signs and wonders in heaven
and in earth, who hath delivered Daniel from the power of the lions.
28 So this Daniel prospered in the reign of Darius, and in the reign of
Cyrus the Persian.

"He that doth evil, let him do evil still: and he which is filthy, let him

~~Revelation 22:11 (1534 Tyndale translation)
They have no confidence in anybody, and can have none in themselves,
for they do not know themselves. They do not comprehend their existence,
and were it not that they get tired, and wish to rest, they would scarcely
realize that they had a body; and when their stomachs become empty and
crave food, they are prompted, like the brutes, to seek for something to
eat. This is the case with some in this congregation, they have but little
more idea of what they are, who they are, and what will be their future
destiny, than has the stall-fed bullock that is fatted for slaughter.
What is the matter with them? The god of this world has blinded their
minds, they give way to selfishness, covetousness, and divers other kinds
of wickedness, suffer the allurements of this world to decoy them from the
paths of truth, forget their God, their religion, their covenants, and the
blessings they have received, and become like beasts, made to be taken
and destroyed at the will of the destroyer.
This is the situation, not only of the great majority of the world, but of
many of the inhabitants of these valleys; they have no correct idea of the
day of destruction, the day of calamity; they have no realization of the day
of sorrow and retribution. They put these things far away and do not wish
to think about them, but say, "Let us eat, drink, and lay down and sleep,
and that is all we desire;" then like the brutes they are happy. It never
enters the hearts of the mass of mankind that they are preparing for the
day of calamity and slaughter.

44 And he turned to the woman, and said unto Simon, Seest thou this woman?
I entered into thine house, thou gavest me no water for my feet: but she
hath
washed my feet with tears, and wiped [them] with the hairs of her head.
45 Thou gavest me no kiss: but this woman since the time I came in hath not
ceased to kiss my feet.
46 My head with oil thou didst not anoint: but this woman hath anointed
my feet with ointment.
47 Wherefore I say unto thee, Her sins, which are many, are forgiven;
for she loved much: but to whom little is forgiven, [the same] loveth
little.
48 And he said unto her, Thy sins are forgiven.
49 And they that sat at meat with him began to say within themselves, Who is
this that forgiveth sins also?
50 And he said to the woman, Thy faith hath saved thee; go in peace.

I am talking of things pertaining to your salvation,--not to that of my
family alone, but to that of all the families of the house of Israel. You
have got to take a course to strengthen the cable. Many cables are chains
composed of links; and is there not room to put on more links, to extend the
chain, so as to reach to the bottom of the deepest waters? Yes. You must
become a link on that chain and strengthen it, or you will be lost.
If you prefer the figure of a cable made of flax, sea-grass, or hemp, go to
work and increase the strength of it, and tie yourselves to the Priesthood
and to the man that you are connected with, or let there be a final
conclusion to dissolve the partnership, and go somewhere else. I do not
want half-hearted characters to labour with me. Poor miserable creatures,
they are not fit for anything. Some of them have been in the house of
Israel from fifteen to twenty years, and are following the Devil. Are there
any such characters in this congregation? Yes, several, both men and women.
There are men and women ready to oppose brother Brigham in what he said
last Sunday. He told the truth of God in every word he spoke. Do you
suppose
that he is so unwise to say a thing which he does not know to be true? He
understands what he speaks, and he looks before he jumps, and God Almighty
will lead him straight, and he will never stumble--no, never, from this time
forth; nor will you, brother Hyde, if you will follow him; neither will any
other man.

(Old Testament | Isaiah 55:6 - 9)
15 And it came to pass that the multitude went forth, and thrust their hands
into his side, and did feel the prints of the nails in his hands and in his
feet; and this they did do, going forth one by one until they had all gone
forth, and did see with their eyes and did feel with their hands, and did
know of a surety and did bear record, that it was he, of whom it was written
by the prophets, that should come.
16 And when they had all gone forth and had witnessed for themselves, they
did cry out with one accord, saying:
17 Hosanna! Blessed be the name of the Most High God! And they did fall down
at the feet of Jesus, and did worship him.
18 And it came to pass that he spake unto Nephi (for Nephi was among the
multitude) and he commanded him that he should come forth.
19 And Nephi arose and went forth, and bowed himself before the Lord and did
kiss his feet.
20 And the Lord commanded him that he should arise. And he arose and stood
before him.
21 And the Lord said unto him: I give unto you power that ye shall baptize
this people when I am again ascended into heaven.
22 And again the Lord called others, and said unto them likewise; and he
gave unto them power to baptize. And he said unto them: On this wise shall
ye baptize; and there shall be no disputations among you.
23 Verily I say unto you, that whoso repenteth of his sins through your
words, and desireth to be baptized in my name, on this wise shall ye baptize
them-Behold, ye shall go down and stand in the water, and in my name shall
ye baptize them.
24 And now behold, these are the words which ye shall say, calling them by
name, saying:
25 Having authority given me of Jesus Christ, I baptize you in the name of
the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. Amen.
26 And then shall ye immerse them in the water, and come forth again out of
the water.
27 And after this manner shall ye baptize in my name; for behold, verily I
say unto you, that the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Ghost are one; and
I am in the Father, and the Father in me, and the Father and I are one.
28 And according as I have commanded you thus shall ye baptize. And there
shall be no disputations among you, as there have hitherto been; neither
shall there be disputations among you concerning the points of my doctrine,
as there have hitherto been.
29 For verily, verily I say unto you, he that hath the spirit of contention
is not of me, but is of the devil, who is the father of contention, and he
stirreth up the hearts of men to contend with anger, one with another.
30 Behold, this is not my doctrine, to stir up the hearts of men with anger,
one against another; but this is my doctrine, that such things should be
done away.
31 Behold, verily, verily, I say unto you, I will declare unto you my
doctrine.
32 And this is my doctrine, and it is the doctrine which the Father hath
given unto me; and I bear record of the Father, and the Father beareth
record of me, and the Holy Ghost beareth record of the Father and me; and I
bear record that the Father commandeth all men, everywhere, to repent and
believe in me.
33 And whoso believeth in me, and is baptized, the same shall be saved; and
they are they who shall inherit the kingdom of God.
34 And whoso believeth not in me, and is not baptized, shall be damned.
35 Verily, verily, I say unto you, that this is my doctrine, and I bear
record of it from the Father; and whoso believeth in me believeth in the
Father also; and unto him will the Father bear record of me, for he will
visit him with fire and with the Holy Ghost.
36 And thus will the Father bear record of me, and the Holy Ghost will bear
record unto him of the Father and me; for the Father, and I, and the Holy
Ghost are one.
37 And again I say unto you, ye must repent, and become as a little child,
and be baptized in my name, or ye can in nowise receive these things.
38 And again I say unto you, ye must repent, and be baptized in my name, and
become as a little child, or ye can in nowise inherit the kingdom of God.
39 Verily, verily, I say unto you, that this is my doctrine, and whoso
buildeth upon this buildeth upon my rock, and the gates of hell shall not
prevail against them.
40 And whoso shall declare more or less than this, and establish it for my
doctrine, the same cometh of evil, and is not built upon my rock; but he
buildeth upon a sandy foundation, and the gates of hell stand open to
receive such when the floods come and the winds beat upon them.
41 Therefore, go forth unto this people, and declare the words which I have
spoken, unto the ends of the earth.

Andy Reid
Head Coach
Executive VP/Football Operations
One of the most successful head coaches in recent NFL history, Andy Reid
has really put his stamp on this city's beloved football team. After taking
over
a 3-13 club on January 11, 1999, Reid has been simply masterful in turning
the Eagles into one of the NFL's elite teams.
During his tenure, Reid, 48, has earned NFL coach of the year honors twice,
compiled the best win total (96), winning percentage (.608), and playoff
victory total (8) in team history. ...
It was at a physical education class at BYU that Reid met the woman who
would become his wife, Tammy. "What attracted me to him more than anything
was his character. He's just a really good guy, very honorable and very
conscientious." Reid converted to the Mormon faith in 1979 which Tammy
and her family had practiced.

Judge: Jail for Reid sons; a family 'in crisis'
By Mari A. Schaefer
Inquirer Staff Writer
A Montgomery County judge who sentenced two sons of Eagles coach Andy Reid
to jail yesterday described the Reid house as a "drug emporium" and directly
rebuked both parents, saying, "I have some real difficulty with the
structure in which these two boys live."
Reid and his wife, Tammy, showed little emotion as Judge Steven T. O'Neill
sentenced Garrett and Britt Reid to jail - for up to 23 months - in a
six-hour session and capped months of drama for the family and, by
extension, the Eagles organization.
O'Neill was unsparing in his comments as he called the Reid brothers "drug
addicts" and said the doctors the family hired to treat their sons
prescribed drugs that helped create the addictions.
"It sounds like a drug emporium there with drugs all around and you're an
addict," O'Neill said to Garrett Reid. "This is a family in crisis," he
added.
O'Neill's harsh criticism of the Reid family was leavened with his
acknowledgment that Andy and Tammy Reid were "loving parents" who had
repeatedly sent their sons to drug-treatment programs.
But as the daylong sentencing hearing wore on, it became clear that their
best efforts had failed.
....
Now, while holding the brothers ultimately responsible for their own
behavior, the judge has also, in effect, placed Reid, whom many regard as
the centerpiece of the Eagles $1.1 billion franchise, directly at the center
of his family's legal and health problems.
....
Britt Reid was sentenced to eight to 23 months in jail and four years of
probation stemming from a road-rage incident in which he flashed a gun.
During each sentencing the judge reviewed the drugs - some prescribed and
some used illegally - that were found on Reid's sons. They included
OxyContin, morphine, Vicodin, Adderall, Prozac, Valium, cocaine, marijuana,
testosterone, heroin, Trileptal and Percocet. Also, Subutex and Suboxone,
which are used to treat opiate withdrawal.
That myriad collection of drugs left the judge baffled.
"I can't figure out who is prescribing all those drugs," O'Neill said, later
adding, "The medical industry is just as much to blame for what happened to
these two men."
He called them "dangerous narcotics. . . . We live in a society where they
are highly overprescribed . . . so it is little wonder we are seeing them as
drug addicts."
O'Neill read excerpts from a presentencing report that said Garrett Reid
started using drugs and alcohol when he was 18, and started selling cocaine
in 2000.
