I have been around with the camera again to a few places and a few of

It's commonly called a Fritillary here in England, though there are
several species. This most looks like a High Brown (Latin:F.adippe),
though I don't know if that species is native to Sweden. Check with
your local library.
Duck in Kallhäll. "Have you got any bread?"
Yep that's Mallards, always on the scrounge. ;-)
Loverly pictures and a nice change from the stuff we usually get in
alt.atheism.
Thanks,

Take a look at: http://www.guypadfield.com/highbrownfritillary.html
and:
http://www.leps.it/indexjs.htm?SpeciesPages/ArgynPaph.htm
From my book, I couldn't quite decide whether it was the High Brown or
the Silver-Washed Fritillary, Argynnis.paphia, so take a look at:
http://www.zoologi.su.se/research/wahlberg/Heliconiinae/paphia.htm
and:
http://www.leps.it/indexjs.htm?SpeciesPages/ArgynPaph.htm
This site also has links on the bottom, which suggest a couple of
close-looking species I hadn't considered.
Sometimes, pinning a particular photo down to a particular species is
a real swine. :-)

I have the little 2100, pretty much a point and shoot, but it's one of the
few in the lower price range that have a glass lens. For example, the 2 MP
pics turn out better than the 3 MP pics the Fuji of equal price takes with

It would be nice if we had an atheist pictures site, where we could
show off our favorite pics.
In what way would it be different from any other site? Would it contain
pictures which clearly don't contain a god[1], or what?
[1] Hard to avoid doing this, of course.
It's more about fulfilling people's curiosity about where other group
members have been, what sort of things they're interested in, and what
attracted their attention enough to make them take a photo of it. Much
like reading someone's personal web-page and viewing the pics there: a
"get to know you" sort of thing. People have previously issued lists of
their favorite music, for example, some of which did include references
to the Invisible One.
And sometimes people post things that are unusual. I believe it was
Ichi who posted a series of pics he had taken in Syria. This is not
something you're going to see every day unless you go looking for it.

I have the little 2100, pretty much a point and shoot, but it's one
of the few in the lower price range that have a glass lens. For
example, the 2 MP pics turn out better than the 3 MP pics the Fuji
of equal price takes with its plastic lens.
I bet the difference is like day and night especially under tough
light conditions.
Nice shots, I enjoyed them.
Here are a few from the Southern California area... I like to take
pictures of roads that are fun for motorcycling.
I am going to N Calif. in October myself, maybe not the best time of
year or as spectacular views as this, but I am still looking forward
to it.
Big Tujunga Canyon:

Excellent composition. Love the bridge which puts things into
perspective!
Angeles Crest Highway:
http://home.comcast.net/~vickman/ACmtngreat.JPG
Looks a littel bit over-exposed, but not enough to spoil it. The sky
is burnt out and gives a feeling of a very stark sun. I like the way
the mountains seems to almost shimmer in the background. As the first
one the composition is great.
More Angeles Crest:

Nice!
My bike in front of the local golf course:

Oh, I like it :)

Depending on where you'll be you may not be far from me. I'm just a
couple miles north of the Calif. state line. If so, you're more
than welcome to come by.

My base is going to be Lafayette as far as I can tell right now. Would
that be far from you? We'll be doing some driving around making day
trips and possibly staying overnight some places, it would be very
nice to meet and have lunch/dinner/a couple of beers or what you would
prefer.
Your last name sounds rather scandinavian even. Sager is not uncommon
as a last name though I can't remember the exact meaning and quist
looks like an alternative spelling of kvist, meaning branch (on a
tree).

I'm in northern Los Angeles. I was thinking about a ride up to the Lake
Shasta area, although the recent Bear Fire may put a damper on that.

I seem to remember a pig being burnt to prove/disprove the Spontaneous Human
Combustion theory type thing.
Yup, here it is.
http://www.mythsdreamssymbols.com/spontaneous.html
"Even the bones were destroyed ofter 5 hours of burning", now I would say
that a bear would be 3 times the size of a pig,
15 hours per bear would be my estimation. Give or take an hour or two,
dependant on wind direction and hairyness of bear.
