Object: song that has had me crying all day
this is an old song. as I listened to it, the ethereal sound
arrangement, the words, it struck me with such sadness. sadness in me,
I cannot explain. yeah it's got a christian message and lyrics to it -
so what, i don't care. i do not have any desire to preach to anyone
about anything. just to let others listen to this song. it had me
crying all day long everytime i listened to it, or thought about it.
http://www.bolt.com/lostinshadows/audio/848579?cn=STREAM_lostinshadows_audio_large_PAGE1
it hurts so bad. everything i am going through, everything i am
feeling, i don't know why. i cannot explain. the sorrow. so many
different things.
that song got me. it might mean nothing to you. or it might mean
something to you.
that's all.
bye.

Pretty song, but rather sacharrine for my taste.
If it bothers you so much, you might want to consider NOT listening to it.
Looking at the newsgroups this is posted to, it would appear that you're
suffering from depression. Try to get some help. Oh, and this doesn't have
a thing to do with atheism, so I'm not sure why you crossposted it here.
Good luck

"Pretty song, but rather sacharrine for my taste."
indeed it is kinda leaning toward the sacharrine, 'sweet' side -
the song was made in the 80s, that kinda explains why.
"If it bothers you so much, you might want to consider NOT listening to
it."
it didn't bother me, it struck me.
"Looking at the newsgroups this is posted to, it would appear that
you're
suffering from depression."
that's just a label - what i'm suffering from, is, despair, sorrow, but
there really are no words for it, and no human term or label can pin it
down IMO. i imagine some people feel the same about how they are
themselves.
"Try to get some help.
Good luck"
what i'm going through can't be helped, but thanks anyway : |

I found the song horrid and it made me laugh. It certainly seemed like
Christian elevator music to me.

Why would anybody in their right mind want to listen to something, not
once but multiple times, that made him profoundly sad? Do you enjoy
wallowing in misery?

If you're in such bad shape, perhaps you should seek professional
help? Or at least go get drunk, and cry on someone's shoulder.....

Someone once described Terry Jacks' "Seasons In The Sun" as
'theme music for a suicide'. This sounds about the same.

People often don't listen closely enough to the lyrics, then
misunderstand what the song is about. Suicide isn't mentioned, or
even implied in that song....and it's quite a good song, actually (in
spite of millions of idiots claiming otherwise).
