Look up the psychological phenomenon of "filtering", already...
(But please continue filtering-in the pattern "hypocrits with the line 'do
as I say not as I do!'"!;)

Why filter what can be questioned? It seems that abuse is not specific
to Christians and he appears to provide reasons for why we should pay
special attention to the Christian concerning these kinds of matters.
Why not attack abuse instead of draging the smelly red-herring across
the path of our nostrils?
A Red Herring is a fallacy in which an irrelevant topic is presented
in order to divert attention from the original issue. The basic idea
is to "win" an argument by leading attention away from the argument
and to another topic.

I think Christians have pretty much always done that. There is an
excuse for each not-so-Christian practice by covering it up with a
holy reason why. It is a never ending cycle of corruption.

Yes you are. Your argument above says that all the bad Christians are
compensated by good Christians. Guess what? all the bad communists are
also outnumbered by all the "good" communists", all the "bad Satan
worshippers are outnumbered by "good" Satan worshippers.
This "net value" argument of religious worth is silly. Either
Christianty leads to moral superiority or it doesn't, which is it?
