Members of the First Presbyterian Church of the Covenant say the
guilty plea to theft of one of their church members is bitter sweet.
Myra Schexnayder served as the church’s accountant for 10 years before
it was discovered that she was embezzling money. Monday, Schexnayder
plead guilty to theft in Judge John Steven’s courtroom. She is
scheduled to be sentenced Sept. 24. Her sentence could be probation,
restitution or jail time.
