On July 14, 2005, Sliwinski rammed her Ford Mustang into a stopped
eastbound Honda Civic at Dempster Street and Niles Center Road in
Skokie, killing Michael Dahlquist, 39, Douglas Meis, 29, and John
Glick, 35.
"I honestly never meant to hurt anyone," Sliwinski continued, "but I
take full responsibility for the actions in this terrible loss that I
have caused."
The sentencing hearing at Skokie's Cook County courthouse began with
testimony from three family members of the victims. After they
described the pain of their loss, Prosecutor Michele Gemskie followed
by describing Sliwinski as "a person who did whatever she wanted to
do, whenever she wanted to do it."
No person spoke on her behalf at the hearing, but the court received
signed statements of support from Sliwinski's family members, friends
and members of Sliwinski's church.

both houses of Congress this November. And Yang can quote me on that."
