A former Royersford pastor and his wife are eligible for a special
probationary program on charges they allegedly stole antique Bible
books from the church and sold them on eBay, court documents revealed.
Montgomery County prosecutors have granted William B. Shrout Jr. and
his wife Carla admission to the county's Accelerated Rehabilitative
Disposition program, according to court documents available Thursday.
The ARD program is a special probationary program reserved for
first-time offenders who are charged with non-violent crimes. The
program allows offenders to clear their criminal records upon
successful completion of a period of probation.
