The witness, one Alicia Victor who too had a sexual relation with the
Archbishop, also told the Court that Gilbert was concerned that
Jeremiah was calling his name in public not to his liking.
On December 12th, 2001, Jurors found Gilbert guilty as charged and had
him sentenced to death five days later. After an appeal, the matter
was taken to the Privy Council where the Law Lords, in March 2006,
ruled that the death sentence was unconstitutional and had the matter
returned for sentencing by the High Court.
