Kevin Forbes had cocaine, morphine and marijuana in his system when he
caused a four-vehicle accident north of Covington that killed a
LaPlace couple about three years ago, according to a St. Tammany
Parish prosecutor.
Family members said the 52-year-old, self-employed logger from Sandy
Hook, Miss., had longtime drug and alcohol problems and was addicted
to crack cocaine when his SUV veered into oncoming traffic on
Louisiana 21 on May 29, 2004. He was driving to the airport to pick up
his family.
Forbes' wife, brother and son testified Thursday, along with two
CHURCH pastors, in a bid for clemency at his sentencing hearing. They
described Forbes, who pleaded guilty last month to vehicular homicide,
as hardworking, good-hearted and remorseful.

I think Yang does an excellent job in putting stuff like that here but
in my view the members of the flock are victims of religion and should
not be paraded for their crimes alongside religious leaders in the
same context. For one reason there wouldn't be space for any thing
else here. This is becoming practically a daily feature (long may it
continue) and as such does it not deserve its own group?

You bring up a good point.
On the other hand, the guy is essentially arguing that he shouls get a
lighter sentenced because he's a Christian (therefoe the 2 pastors). I
fail to see why simply being a Christian should get you a lighter
sentence than anyone else.

Kevin Forbes had cocaine, morphine and marijuana in his system when
he
caused a four-vehicle accident north of Covington that killed a
LaPlace couple about three years ago, according to a St.
He was driving to the airport to pick
up
his family.
Forbes' wife, brother and son testified Thursday, along with two
CHURCH pastors, in a bid for clemency at his sentencing hearing. They
described Forbes, who pleaded guilty last month to vehicular
homicide,
as hardworking, good-hearted and remorseful.
