THOMASTON, Ga. An Upson County woman was convicted today of
bludgeoning her 46-year-old husband to death and was sentenced to life
in prison.
Prosecutors said 49-year-old Mary Ann Bragg struck Tom Bragg at least
four times in the forehead, most likely with some type of hammer, on
September 9th, 2002. Three months earlier, she had taken out a
25-thousand dollar life insurance policy on him without his knowledge.

The prosecution also portrayed her as promiscuous. Three men testified
they had inappropriate relations with Bragg while she was married,
including a former Upson County PASTOR who admitted an affair with her
just weeks before her husband's death.
