Megdell went to court in June asking that Hayman stop Aldridge from
functioning as pastor and to determine who governs the church. Both
sides agreed to hold a church vote, which gave the 661 eligible
members an opportunity to cast absentee votes if they couldn't make it
to church to vote during a 10-hour period on Tuesday.
Aldridge, 51, pleaded guilty Aug. 7 to improper possession of a
firearm in a motor vehicle, a 90-day misdemeanor, and possession of
cocaine, a 4-year felony. He is due to be sentenced by Circuit Judge
Judith A. Fullerton.
