State's Catholic Bishops Oppose Stem Cell Research |
Trying to reverse the recent moral decay in Massachusetts, the RCC has
taken the lead in attempting to outlaw this ghoulish practice.
Misleading the physically challenged with science fiction is as cruel
as the barbaric act itself.

State's Catholic Bishops Oppose Stem Cell Research
Officials Call On Catholics To Contact Lawmakers
BOSTON -- The state's four Roman Catholic bishops refer to the pope's
struggle with Parkinson's disease in a statement condemning the
Legislature's proposal to pass a bill that would encourage human
embryonic stem cell research in Massachusetts.
"The world ... has been deeply affected by the profound moral witness
of Pope John Paul II, who struggles with Parkinson's-like disabilities
and yet continues to plead with scientists to pursue research only
through ethical means," the bishops write in a joint statement
published in Friday's edition of The Pilot, the official newspaper of
the Boston Archdiocese.
The bishops -- Sean P. O'Malley of Boston, George W. Coleman of Fall
River, Timothy A. McDonnell of Springfield, and Robert J. McManus of
Worcester -- call on Catholics to contact their lawmakers and persuade
them to vote against the proposed stem cell legislation.

Moral decay in Massachusetts?!
That means women are going around with their faces bare, driving cars and
holding jobs.

Because the church would rather see people suffer and die rather than
allow the use of stem cells in research. After all, everybody knows
that cells are more important than people.

Suffering equals religious worship which equals money and power to those
controlling the religion...simple equation!

But the Catholic church doesn't. In fact almost no rational people
believe that.

It doesn't? Can you show cites for that? I see that the Catechism states
differently:
(From the Vatican's web site)
http://www.vatican.va/archive/ccc_css/archive/catechism/p3s2c2a5.htm#2270
2270 **Human life must be respected and protected absolutely from the moment
of conception**. From the first moment of his existence, a human being must
be recognized as having the rights of a person - among which is the
inviolable right of every innocent being to life.72
Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I
consecrated you.73
My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret,
intricately wrought in the depths of the earth.74
2274 **Since it must be treated from conception as a person**, the embryo
must be defended in its integrity, cared for, and healed, as far as
possible, like any other human being
Now, if you can provide cites that show that the Catholic church does not
consider life to begin at conception, I would be interested to see them.

I don't have patience for assholes playing childish games. Once they
join they're no longer sperm an egg. Once they join they're in the
womb.

Stem cells enable paralysed rats to walk
10:40 03 July 2003
"Nerve cells derived from human embryonic stem cells and transplanted
into paralysed rats have enabled the animals to walk again. The
findings add to a growing number of studies that suggest embryonic
stem cells could have a valuable role to play in treating spinal
injuries.
"The researchers, whose work was funded by stem cell giant Geron of
Menlo Park, California, say trials on people could start in just two
years.
"But the first trials are likely to involve patients with recent
spinal cord injuries and localised damage. Treating people who have
been paralysed for years or suffer from degenerative nerve diseases
would be far more difficult."

Most of which was caused or abetted by them...after the priest
