I HATE, HATE, HATE, HATE, HATE this new fucking trend of
stamping little product labels on to fruits and vegetables
(bannas in particular), not the least of which is because
the fucking things won't come off half of the time leading
to surgery to remove the lesbian lesion.

When I peel the sticker off, it takes some of the skin from my plums or
nectarines with it if they're pretty ripe. Still, that's not so bad
compared to some other stores putting *perforated* stickers on their
fruit, so it tears and comes off in two or three distinct peices.

Hey, at least the sticker on food is a temporary annoyance
you can get around or don't notice. In Korea, *every*
bookstore insists on damaging the books they sell, putting
an ink stamp mark on pages, *cutting* the cover, or some
other act of idiocy. Korean bookstores *won't let* people
leave with the book - even if you've paid for it - if you
won't let them vandalize the book or books.
I have been told the (lack of) thinking is they don't want
people to refund books that weren't purchased at their
store. I thought that's what receipts were for; it works
in Canada and the US, but I guess Koreans can't figure this
out for themselves.
I don't know about others, but I keep my books in pristine
condition and don't want someone vandalizing it before I
leave the store.
