It isn't just Scientology customers and staff who are mentally
deranged due to brainwashing:
"Asked what link existed between the cat-shooting allegation and
homosexuality, Larry Briggs, who came with the Campbellsburg
church group, said, 'People who take inordinate affection over
cats probably lean toward favoring homosexuality ... there's an
expedient link between the two.'"

Cat case triggers protest against abortion, gays
By JOHN MARTIN and BRYAN CORBIN Courier & Press staff writers
January 5, 2005
About 30 protesters, who said they were motivated by reports that
people in Evansville could be prosecuted for shooting a cat,
gathered Tuesday outside the Civic Center for a graphic
demonstration against abortion and homosexuality.
The protesters were from churches in Owensboro, Ky., and
Campbellsburg, Ind. They held up large photographs of dismembered
aborted fetuses, used epithets to condemn gays and got involved in
some shouting matches with people walking by.
Nathan Lewis, who came on a bus from Old Paths Baptist Church in
Campbellsburg, said he felt "righteous indignation" that abortion
is legal but animal cruelty is a crime.
"A baby's life is worth nothing, (but) if somebody kills a cat
they're brought before a court?" Lewis said.
Another protester with the Campbellsburg group, Ben Cochran, said
he was unaware that no abortion facilities exist in Evansville.
"I didn't know that," Cochran said. "We just thought we'd come
down here and expose the reality of abortion."
Most people walking by condemned the protesters.
"It's really sickening," Evansville resident Alese Hobson said.
"God does not condone stuff like this. God's not going to put
pictures of babies out here looking like that."
Cochran acknowledged that most reaction protesters received was
negative.
"That's normal," Cochran said. "They don't like it because it
offends and convicts. They don't want to see what goes on in this
country. They curse at us and give us the finger."
Some protesters held up signs saying "Eat Cats, Save Babies" or
"Jesus Hates Lukewarm Christians." Others carried signs with
anti-gay slogans. They sang hymns and said over a bullhorn that
God hates abortion and homosexuality.
Some of the protesters had young children with them.
Jack Oliver, pastor of Lord of Sabaoth Baptist Church in nearby
Owensboro, carried a large sign with a photograph of a dead fetus.
Oliver defended the protesters' use of epithets to describe gay
people and said he believes gays "should be put to death." Asked
if he meant that statement literally, Oliver said he did.
Asked what link existed between the cat-shooting allegation and
homosexuality, Larry Briggs, who came with the Campbellsburg
church group, said, "People who take inordinate affection over
cats probably lean toward favoring homosexuality ... there's an
expedient link between the two."
A small group of sheriff's deputies and city police officers
watched the protesters, who came to Evansville on the day suspects
in the cat-shooting incident at Wal-Mart Supercenter were to
appear in court.
No arrests were made. Vanderburgh County Chief Deputy Sheriff Eric
Williams said the protesters were asked to stay out of a crosswalk
on Eighth Street and to not disturb people coming and going from
the Civic Center.
There were some verbal confrontations, however. Two
African-American women told a Courier & Press reporter that
protesters referred to them with a racial epithet. Protesters
denied it.

"Go with the feline God," in Spanish, I think. You ever watch King of
The Hill? There's a Catholic priest who's always killing people and
his trademark saying is "Vaya con Dios" or "Go with God," right before
he kills somebody. :)

Yep :)
When I first started watching it, I lived in Arlington, Texas, and
thought for sure that "Arlen" was supposed to be a takeoff on
Arlington, but others say it's a takeoff on Garland, both of which are
within 20 miles of me. I guess it doesn't really matter which town
the show is supposed to represent, since they're both pretty similar
in nature, from what I've seen around here.

Whoa! Don't remember that guy! :)
You must not have watched very many episodes, because he's in
quite a few of 'em.
I got curious about what exactly his trademark saying actually
meant in English, so I looked it up, and it's supposed to mean
"Go with God."
Vaya = go, and con = with.
Dios in Spanish is the same as Dieu in French which is the
same as God in English.
Mon dieu = Mi dios = My god. Someone else who knows all three
languages better than I do correct me if I'm wrong.
I've been waiting to see an episode where Bobby wants to get a
cat and see how Hank reacts, but I haven't seen one yet, but I might
have missed it if there is one...

You are fortunate that I no longer remember that much Russian, Talog, Greek
or German. After 35 years I am a bit out of practice.

do other things as well. So these things will eventually end. It still
matters to me that they happen.
The realization that life belongs to me, and not to some god or some

No, just someone who had friends from lots of different parts of the world,
and later I was in the Navy, can't be a real tourist unless you can at least
ask where the toilet is. (Plus how to order a beer, not get ripped off, find
out when the next bus/boat/train leaves. How to tell a pretty woman that she
is pretty. Markets! You can learn a heck of a lot in a market place.)
Oh yeah, I forgot about the Spanish and Portuguese.
Still working on the English, though. Give me another 50 or 70 years and I
will have that down pat.

What's the origin of Talog? I don't think I've ever seen that word
before.

An artificial language used in the Philippine Islands, With as many languages
as they have, both native and imported, plus over a hundred dialects that are
literally incomprehensible to those who don't speak them (sort of like
English and Gallic, OLD Gallic) they needed a language that could be taught
to everyone. Back about the 2nd World War it was invented and they have been
spreading it around the nation since.
Base is Spanish, with additions from English, Portuguese, Japanese, some 38
or so PI languages, 120 some PI dialects, some Korean, several African
languages, etc. Sounds horrid, but actually a rather pleasant and quite
musical (in the right mouth) language and not all that hard to learn the
basics of.

No, "you are lazy" in the plural sense when speaking about some
group of lazy-minded linguistic perfectionists who are too lazy to
learn another language besides their own. Comme les members
du some British Guild! Vous êtes linguistically lazy all by yourself,
aussi, je pense ou crois. :)
