ATHEISTS, "GODLESS AMERICANS" TO RALLY AT SUPREME COURT
MARCH 24, SUPPORT NEWDOW CASE, SECULAR PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE...
Mark your calendar for an important First Amendment event!
On Wednesday, March 24, 2004, arguments will take place in the U.S.
Supreme Court (SCOTUS) in an historic case which challenges the
inclusion of the words "under God" in the Pledge of Allegiance.
This landmark legal action was brought by Dr. Michael Newdow,
California Atheist and physician.
American Atheists and the Godless Americans March on Washington
(GAMOW) Task Force will host a mass rally on the steps of the Supreme
Court in Washington, D.C. on March 24 beginning at approximately 11:00
AM. There will be a program of speakers and other events; and on the
Tuesday evening (March 23) we will host a "Rally on the Steps" buffet
banquet with another lineup of speakers. Other activities are under
consideration.
