Swaggart apologizes for slur against gays during service
By Bruce Nolan
Religion News Service
September 25, 2004
In the face of public backlash, televangelist Jimmy Swaggart said he
regrets telling his congregation at a recent televised worship service
that if a gay man ever looks at him romantically, "I'm going to kill
him and tell God he died."
"It was a tongue-in-cheek statement best left unsaid," Swaggart said
in an interview this week. "I won't make it anymore."
A Toronto television station's broadcast of the service produced a
complaint before the Canadian Broadcast Standards Council, said Ann
Mainville- Neeson, the group's executive director.
Audio clips purporting to be of the Sept. 12 Swaggart service have
begun circulating on gay-oriented Web sites.
"I've never seen a man in my life I wanted to marry," Swaggart says to
audience laughter on one Internet link. "And I'm going to be blunt and
plain: If one ever looks at me like that, I'm going to kill him and
tell God he died."
Swaggart said Tuesday he was talking too loosely about killing, using
it casually as a figure of speech. "I've said it about other people,
including other preachers," he said.
Gay advocacy groups say such language encourages violence against gay
men and lesbians. Swaggart said he did not see his remarks in that
light. "Good gracious alive, it would be a long stretch of the
imagination to come up with that," he said.
Even so, he said, "I was unwise in making the statement. All of us
have made statements we wish we hadn't made. That was one for me."

enter and show the jesus between his legs to the wife.

Great. For the rest of my life, the phrase "Jesus has risen from the
dead" will make me nauseous.

Swaggart said Tuesday he was talking too loosely about killing, using
it casually as a figure of speech. "I've said it about other people,
including other preachers," he said.
Christians are notoriously casual about murder when they think Jebus
approves.
Gay advocacy groups say such language encourages violence against gay
men and lesbians. Swaggart said he did not see his remarks in that
light. "Good gracious alive, it would be a long stretch of the
imagination to come up with that," he said.
Damn gays interpret such harmless things as " If one ever looks at me
like that, I'm going to kill him and tell God he died." as somehow
threatening...freekin' pansies.
Even with his "apology" I'm sure that he will continue to prey for gays.

Swaggart apologizes for slur against gays during service

"I've never seen a man in my life I wanted to marry," Swaggart says
to audience laughter on one Internet link. "And I'm going to be
blunt and plain: If one ever looks at me like that, I'm going to
kill him and tell God he died."
I'm sure by "marry" he means "pay for sex"... a privilege and honor he
reserves for women he meets on street corners.

He would be a much happier man if he'd just go to the local bar and
get that 'bent over the bar *****-pounding' he yearns for.

I doubt it. He strikes me more as a top who would bareback.

This pustulent pile of putrescent protoplasm badly needs
to be outed. Surely if we look hard enough we can find
his voice on a gay sex hotline tape.

I wouldn't be surprised.

Swaggart apologizes for slur against gays during service
In the face of public backlash, televangelist Jimmy Swaggart said he
regrets telling his congregation at a recent televised worship service
that if a gay man ever looks at him romantically, "I'm going to kill
him and tell God he died."
"It was a tongue-in-cheek statement best left unsaid," Swaggart said
in an interview this week. "I won't make it anymore."
More proof that paedophilia and homosexuality have nothing
to do with each other: this unquestionably heterosexual man
is the same person who once asked a prostitute (the one he
got caught with) to bring her ten year old daughter into a
sexual threesome.
Nothing like "family values", is there?
