Sam Harris and others say that they are getting thanks from atheists
who feel empowered by the no-nonsense eloquent attitude being
expressed by Harris, Dawkins, Randi, etc.

The recent (excellent) Salk Institute video lecture series brought
this to my mind, where a goodly number of the august more strident
atheists made this flavour of comment.
