(Austin, Texas) Texas Gov. Rick Perry on Sunday will sign legislation
sending to voters this fall a proposed amendment to the state
Constitution to ban same-sex marriage.
Rather than putting his name to the bill in his office Perry has decided
to sign the document at Calvary Christian Academy in Forth Worth.
The decision has angered moderates in the state who say the governor is
blurring the line separating church and state.

Rather than putting his name to the bill in his office

Gee, why is that not a surprise?

The decision has angered moderates in the state who say the governor is
blurring the line separating church and state.

Any attempt by a state, or the feds, to tell churches whom they can or
can not marry is blurring of the seperation of church and state, a
basic principle of American society.

You are not a member of American society so don't let it bother you,
boy. Those of us who are members will take care of it

The California Constitution prohibits, by amendment, unequal treatment.
The mayor, Gavin Newscomb (if I'm not mistaken), issued the marriage
licenses because the state constitution trumps lesser state law despite
how large a majority voted for it.

The California legislature, like a majority of other states have done,
passed a law saying that a marriage can only be between one man and
one woman. The mayor of San Fransuxco violated state law and all
marriage license issued by his administration to homosexuals are null
and void.

Texas Gov. To Sign Anti-Gay Marriage Measure At Christian School

(Austin, Texas) Texas Gov. Rick Perry on Sunday will sign
legislation
sending to voters this fall a proposed amendment to the state
Constitution to ban same-sex marriage.

Rather than putting his name to the bill in his office Perry has
decided
to sign the document at Calvary Christian Academy in Forth
Worth.

The decision has angered moderates in the state who say the
governor
is
blurring the line separating church and state.

What he is doing is grandstanding since the Governor has no role
in amending the state's constitution.

About the same thing the mayor of San Fransuxco was doing when he
started issuing marriage license to queers, huh?

The California Constitution prohibits, by amendment, unequal
treatment.
The mayor, Gavin Newscomb (if I'm not mistaken), issued the marriage
licenses because the state constitution trumps lesser state law
despite
how large a majority voted for it.

The California legislature, like a majority of other states have
done,
passed a law saying that a marriage can only be between one man and
one woman. The mayor of San Fransuxco violated state law and all
marriage license issued by his administration to homosexuals are
null
and void.

The law violates the state constitution, so the marriages are still
legally
valid.

You just can't handle the facts can you? The
law doesn't violate the Constitution until the SCoC says it does

The law violates the state constitution, and the marriages are still
legally
valid.

You're pissing up a rope, boy.

Nope, the law violates the state constitution, and the marriages are still
legally valid.

And you're still full; of ***** and pissing up a rope.

Not I, but you sure are wetting yourself.

Really?
Political analysts believe that the gay movement is showing increasing strength
there and the defeat is largely due to the fact that the SCofC is expected to do
the job for the Legislature so there is less political risk in letting them do
so, ie: voting against the measure, knowing that the SCofC is going to legalize
ssm was safer than inflaming the fundies by voting for it, yet the gay/Lesbian
community came within a few votes of it happening anyways.

Lower courts have the inherent power to declare laws unconstitutional. And a
Superior Court judge, Richard Kramer, did exactly that on March 15, 2005:
http://www.ktvu.com/station/4283354/detail.html
You are right, however, in saying that the court also invalidated the San
Francisco marriages. While the law violates the state constitution, it remains
the law until overturned. When (not if) equal marriage becomes a reality, those
marriages will have to be redone.

Are you not keeping up with the same sex
marriage laws in California? You homos (Ahnold calls you girlie-boys)

Someone seems a tad cranky. What is the problem, is no one doing anything with
your *****?

governor is
blurring the line separating church and state.

The California legislature, like a majority of other states have
done,
passed a law saying that a marriage can only be between one man and
one woman. The mayor of San Fransuxco violated state law and all
marriage license issued by his administration to homosexuals are
null
and void.

The law violates the state constitution, so the marriages are still
legally
valid.

You pitiful ***** sucker. You just can't handle the facts can you? The
law doesn't violate the Constitution until the SCoC says it does and
that will not happen, boy. Are you not keeping up with the same sex
marriage laws in California? You homos (Ahnold calls you girlie-boys)
are getting your prissy little asses kick up between your shoulder
blades.

Gee, Bill...such strong language and vitriol. Is that why you carry a
gun to protect yourself from the "girlie-boys"? LOL

No. I carry a "pistol" because it's my right as a law abiding citizen.
If you don't like the language, *****, Uglee.

You're a moron. Plain and simple, go tell your parents/siblings that they
did you no favors by breeding like that.

Texas Gov. To Sign Anti-Gay Marriage Measure At Christian School

(Austin, Texas) Texas Gov. Rick Perry on Sunday will sign
legislation
sending to voters this fall a proposed amendment to the state
Constitution to ban same-sex marriage.

Rather than putting his name to the bill in his office Perry has
decided
to sign the document at Calvary Christian Academy in Forth Worth.

The decision has angered moderates in the state who say the governor
is
blurring the line separating church and state.

What he is doing is grandstanding since the Governor has no role
in amending the state's constitution.

You once wrote that you carried a gun to protect yourself from mean gay
