Texas Preacher says Mental problems caused by demons |
Schlosser pastor: Mental problems 'caused by demons'
01:51 PM CST on Wednesday, February 15, 2006
By JENNIFER EMILY / The Dallas Morning News
McKINNEY - The minister of a Plano woman accused of killing her daughter
by severing her arms at the shoulders testified today that he does not
believe in mental illness and that those problems are "caused by
demons."
Doyle Davidson, a self-proclaimed apostle and prophet, testified on the
third day of the capital murder trial of Dena Schlosser, who is accused
of killing her 10-month-old baby girl by cutting off her arms.
Ms. Schlosser, 37, has pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity.
"I don't view mental problems ... all mental problems, I'm convinced, is
caused by demons," he said. "I do not believe that any mental illness
exists that is not manifestation of demonic activity," said the minister
of Water of Life church in Plano.
He said medicine cannot help them.
Mr. Davidson, 73, told the court, as he has in previous interviews, that
he did not know the Schlossers well.
The defense asked Mr. Davidson about his teachings, which talk about a
Jezebel spirit in women; that women must submit to their husbands; and
that he can cast the devil and spirits out of people.

Among the more widely known "Demon Hunters" of the 70's and 80's was a
fellow by the name of Derek Prince. He claimed that India was filled with
demons and evil spirits of all types and if any Christian were to travel
there they would be overwhelmed and taken over by the demons that were so
prevalent. He damn near caused thousands of people to burn and destroy
priceless objects of art that came from India not to mention the spreading
of bigotry and racism. Suddenly one day he was gone. Nearly everyone
forgot about him. I even asked a hard core God-schmooking bible thumper
about Derek Prince not too long ago. He barely remembered him yet at the
ime was one of his ardent followers.
Prince is still preaching but has toned down his "teaching sermons" about
demons and evil spirits. It would be interesting to see if Mr. Davidson is
a disciple of Derek Prince.

I don't know how many 'Derek Princes' there are, but the one with a very
popular radio program died in 2003. His radio show, the last few years at
least, focused on bible study, and was quite informative. According to
Wikipedia, that same DP was born in India, so it may be the same person.
He was on the radio right up until his death.

Shocking, since such things are almost unheard of in the little brewery on US

Be glad you weren't in Giddings just after midnight one Saturday one September
evening about six years ago...I was part of a vanload of fifteen coming back
from an event in Austin that had to be canceled, and we pulled in at the only
open convenience store in Giddings, to find out that half of the town partied
after midnight - and this was a town of about 4500 50-odd miles from Austin.
It looked a lot like Sixth Street in Austin, without all the bars. That kept
me awake the remaining 110 miles to our starting point in Houston, fer sure.

Schlosser pastor: Mental problems 'caused by demons'

With such supporting testimony from one of the great minds of Collin County,
I'd say Schlosser might as well start packing her bags for her final address:

on 15 Feb 2006 in alt.atheism, dear sweet RobH (Rob@aol.com) made the
light shine upon us with this:
McKINNEY - The minister of a Plano woman accused of killing her

he does not believe in mental illness and that those problems are
"caused by demons."
Thus she should be admonished of all charges?
