Object: That heathen of a governor!
So, Rick Perry (R), governor of Texas, a known liberal bastion of a blue
state, mandated by executive order, the immunization of school girls
against the human papillomavirus.
This, of course, has Christians in an uproar. I mean, how *dare* they
protect young people from disease!
"Some conservatives and parents' rights groups worry that requiring girls
to get vaccinated against the sexually transmitted virus that causes
cervical cancer would condone premarital sex and interfere with the way
they raise their children."
http://tinyurl.com/2qfl4c
Uh, yeah. Vaccinations will lead to sex. Maybe the needle turns them on.
Is there *ANYTHING* that won't make Christians want to have sex?

A BIG candy bar 5 cents, 12 cents to see a movie (for kids, a quarter
for adults), 5 cents to ride on the New York subway.

Gas prices in 1920 adjusted to a 1999 dollar was about 2.50 a gallon

Yes and houses only cost $8,000 dollars but it still took 30 year to pay
them off.
The dentist didn't have high speed drills and the difference between a house
call and a day in the hospital in terms of care was not that great.

Our family doctor charged 5 bucks for a house call and nothing if the
family couldn't afford it. And he'd come day, night, or weekends.
Don't remind me of dentists back then. Ouch!
