Moreover if 84% are Christian, explain the 9% of The American
Population that are Christian, yet do not believe in life after death.
Or The Hindu, or Muslim factions.
Sounds like typical rearranging of figures until you come to the
result you want.

Since about 10% of the population is atheist, and another almost 10%
is Buddhist (with most of them not believing in any god), that's 20%
of the population that DOESN'T believe in any god. And there are
probably a lot of atheists who just won't admit it publicly.

If the figures I've seen are to be believed, Non-religious only
accounts for 9%, but roughly between one tenth and one twentieth of
the non-religious identify themselves as atheist. Whereas Catholic is

Much like homosexuals. In fact some think that a majority of

Those like leroy with all those mental and anti-social disorders are

The majority of homosexuals, at least in the USA, are at least nominally

Martin, these are US figures, not world figures. Statistics are
slippery things. According to ARDA(Association of Religious Data
Archive) which at least seems to try to be unbiased, Christians
account for 84% of US Population, Other religons 7%, and non religious
9%.
So the 95% and 75% seem awful odd to me. That would put about 40% of
non religious people believing in God, but it would put at least 11%
of Christians not believing in an afterlife.

With over 170 distinct religions counted in the 2001 Census, the
religious make-up of the UK is diverse, complex, multicultural and
surprising. About half of the British believe in God, yet about 72%
told the 2001 census that they were Christian, and 66% of the
population have no actual connection to any religion or church,
despite what they tend to write down on official forms. Between 1979
and 2005, half of all Christians stopped going to church on a Sunday.
Religion in Britain has suffered an immense decline since the 1950s,
and all indicators show a continued secularisation of British society
in line with other European countries such as France.

That's nice. So what?
He's actually a little low. It's 96%.

OT, but I'm getting a very slow response pulling down posts this evening.
Headers came down quicker than usual (presumably from my ISP's server) but
each post is taking for ever to come down.
I'm on a 4 meg connection and some are taking 30 or 40 seconds to load.
Is there anything up with the Network?

Not on this side of the globe.
Could be just your ISP playing silly buggers.

I had just the opposite on Sunday evening.
Eight minutes to d/load twenty two headers, and about eight seconds to
d/load the twenty two posts. (:-/
I blame it on BT, and their crap wiring.

I'm on cable, but at some stage the signal probably goes through a BT
connection somewhere or other.
I think my problems may be due to a propogation problem. Most posts are now
coming down at a normal speed, but one or two from that period are still
taking forever to download. That would suggest that the posts are not
available on my ISPs server and it has to go looking for them.

We ain't got cable out here yet.
I'm so far out in the sticks, that we still get electric in a
bucket.(:-)

Well to judge from the complaints address, our posts both go through
the same main supplier, so there is a good chance of that.
