Object: The Alt.Atheism List - Mirror It!
Hey everyone,
In order to have this list all over the internet, so more and more people
can pray for atheists, you may mirror it if you wish. Link:
http://jcsm.org/1on1/AltAtheismAtheistAgnosticList.htm
For those that don't know, this is a list of 2100 atheists and agnostics.
Christians regularly pray for them by name. Here is one of the mirrored
sites: http://www.votic.org/jcsm/AltAtheismAtheistAgnosticList.htm
God bless and keep praying!
Sincerely,
Jason Gastrich

I think I'll pirate the SAB:EIEIO or whatever your book is called,
and give it away free to anybody who wants it.

In Gastrich's funhouse mirror moral code, as long as you can get
away with it, it's not wrong...

I have it, and the temptation to post it in such a way is strong,
I'll admit, but I won't do it. Jason may feel that it's okay to do a
wrong in answer to an alleged wrong (and a lot of what he's doing is
an answer to alleged wrongs he perceives have been done to him, such
as Durango Bill's "infringement" of his "copyright"), but if we do
the same thing, we're lowering ourselves.

And that's one of the big ironies in this. That we don't retaliate in
kind as Gastrich is so willing to do with his "objective morality."

It always the case that people who have a strong moral sense of
responsibility often are the losers in a largely immoral world but at
least we can hold our heads up high for we have nothing to be ashamed
of here.

I for one am proud to be atheist and here proclaim it to the world.

I sometimes look back on my life and see the number of times I *could
have had considerable sums of money if I would have just chucked my
ethics. Then see the number of people who've grown wealthy and even
politically powerful indulging in the religion business.

Some days, it's necessary for me to see people like Gastrich. To remind
of why I passed up those chances and why it was worth sticking to my
ethics.

Because in the end you must live with yourself.

NOMINATED PART:

The key to living a guilt
free life is not forgiveness. It is not doing anything in the first place
for which you would feel guilty. Understanding this makes a person much
more ethical than one who thinks he has a supernatural ticket to ride.

END NOMINATION.

Seconded.

Jason will make his own life miserable, and I will watch with amusement.

I think I'll pirate the SAB:EIEIO or whatever your book is called,
and give it away free to anybody who wants it.

In Gastrich's funhouse mirror moral code, as long as you can get away
with it, it's not wrong...

I have it, and the temptation to post it in such a way is strong, I'll
admit, but I won't do it. Jason may feel that it's okay to do a wrong
in answer to an alleged wrong (and a lot of what he's doing is an
answer to alleged wrongs he perceives have been done to him, such as
Durango Bill's "infringement" of his "copyright"), but if we do the
same thing, we're lowering ourselves.

And that's one of the big ironies in this. That we don't retaliate in
kind as Gastrich is so willing to do with his "objective morality."

It always the case that people who have a strong moral sense of
responsibility often are the losers in a largely immoral world but at
least we can hold our heads up high for we have nothing to be ashamed of
here.

I for one am proud to be atheist and here proclaim it to the world.

I sometimes look back on my life and see the number of times I *could have
had considerable sums of money if I would have just chucked my ethics.
Then see the number of people who've grown wealthy and even politically
powerful indulging in the religion business.

Do you think they're any happier than you? The guilt and doubt must be
gnawing away at them as they con thousands of idiots into parting with
their cash. Either they believe in god and must know that they'd be
damned for their filthy greed, or they don't believe in god and know
that they are deliberately ripping people off... guilt has a tendency
to catch up with people sooner or later. A rich christian is a
hypocrite and a liar.
I don't believe that money brings happiness. The happiest people I
know are the ones who've decided not to play by society's rules, and
abandon the usual tedious and wasteful 9 to 5 existence for something
altogether more fulfilling. They're all skint though :-)
