Object: The Alt.Atheism List - Mirror It!
Hey everyone,
In order to have this list all over the internet, so more and more people
can pray for atheists, you may mirror it if you wish. Link:
http://jcsm.org/1on1/AltAtheismAtheistAgnosticList.htm
For those that don't know, this is a list of 2100 atheists and agnostics.
Christians regularly pray for them by name. Here is one of the mirrored
sites: http://www.votic.org/jcsm/AltAtheismAtheistAgnosticList.htm
God bless and keep praying!
Sincerely,
Jason Gastrich

That is actually "just in the Mick of time," see Callahan's Crosstime Saloon,

From:
http://www.yaelf.com/questions.shtml
"in the nick of time - It means, of course, at the critical or precise
moment; just at the instant when our hero was saved at the last moment
from onrushing death, for example. The expression about three
centuries old, formed when someone added the redundant 'of time' to
the older expression, 'in the nick,' which meant the same thing. A
nick is a groove, a notch, as made with a sharp knife when one cuts a
V in a stick of wood. Nothing could express precision more accurately
than a notch so formed, especially when applied to time."
A quote from Walden, the chapter called 'Economy': In any weather, at
any hour of the day or night, I have been anxious to improve the nick
of time, and notch it on my stick too; to stand on the meeting of two
eternities, the past and future, which is precisely the present
moment; to toe that line."

In the early English Parliaments votes were recorded on wooden
sticks or tallys by making notches in them. When divisions (or votes)
are called MP's had a certain time limit to make their nick with some
arriving just in time to do it. We still have scrambles, as MP dash in
to beat deadline though nowdays, with modern technology at our
disposal we have a wooden bar and two tellers (or tallymen) with pen
and paper. Hence 'in the nick of time'.
In those days the Commons met in Westminster Hall part of a vast and
rambling Palace complex by the banks of the Thames where the King and
his court resided. A store of these sticks began a massive blaze
(forget date) destroying almost everything of the palace bar
Westminster Hall itself.

There were a lot of fortifications done in and around London during

I had moat in quote marks. Back in the late 70's the dug out area
around the Palace of Westminster was level ground.

appearance on May 14, 1968, in which she chatted with Paul McCartney

I was only eight years old at the time she died, so I guess that's why
I've never heard of her.
She sounds like an interesting character though, kinda like a female

Alright, Whipper-Snapper, you can stop making us old folks feel bad.

She was quite a lush, so it seems.

Wow, I wonder how big the bottles were?

I doubt they were the size of the ones you get on a plane flight ;)

Ah, but they're free, and you can order as many as you like. That
counts for a lot.

Then you're using the wrong airlines... last half a dozen times I've
flown it's been free, and getting another drink was just a question of
either walking to the bar at the back of the plane, or pressing the
little button :-) They were all long-haul flights though.

Virgin, Continental, KLM, British Airways, food and drink are free (or
factored into the price of the ticket). Have you never flown outside
North America?

When I would fly, before 911, I'd fly BA.

I like BA but they're expensive.
It's sad that you gave up flying after 9/11, but I guess it's
understandable! I got a bit nervous flying in mainland Europe, but
decided that getting out of the country every once in a while is a
necessity. I try not to think about it now - I don't want to buy in to
government scaremongering.

Nah. I've no qualms about flying at all. It's the dumbass stupid and
useless fucking 'dog and pony show' that's been instituted to board
aircraft.

I got a bit nervous flying in mainland Europe, but
decided that getting out of the country every once in a while is a
necessity. I try not to think about it now - I don't want to buy in to
government scaremongering.

If I wanted to go somewhere I'd hop a seat on military aircraft.
